Many methods of psychology, therapy, meditation, spirituality, and healing do not liberate us from wrong ideas about what and who we are. Instead, these methods try to apply patches, minor fixes, and repairs to the illusory self, which is the root of many frictions and sufferings in life.
Real peace does not depend on what our mind is doing or what emotions and thoughts are arising, nor on the external situations in our life. This is the power of genuinely liberating methods. Real peace is seeing the mind and not fighting or trying to calm it. Our mind can be the fountain of joy, creativity, imagination, and wonder once liberated from the small self, trivial ruminations, and worries, negative and self-referential thoughts. We do not want to silence the thought but liberate it.
This video is a look at what can sometimes go wrong in the path of seeking salvation from suffering and how the proper methods allow us to discover peace and freedom. Real freedom is not to do whatever we want but not to be dragged in all directions by the random things that show us in our lives.
