Sloths spend most of their time eating, resting, or sleeping; in fact, they descend from their treetops canopies just once a week, for a bathroom break. How are these creatures so low energy? Kenny Coogan describes the physical and behavioral adaptations that allow sloths to be so slow.

Emantheseeker Interesting fact: The avocados today are more sweeter then the early ones that giant sloths eat. The giant sloth were the last ice age mega fauna to go extinct. The sloths were the only animal that can spread the avacado seeds. We humans are the reason avocados still exist.

BOOOOOOOOOOOI u so stupid. That is not an accurate description at all, or at least should not be. Did you know there wasn't even a word such as teen in the 19th century? There was only children and adult. The age of teenagers was first planted because of labor laws; there were ADULTS who were not allowed to work. Many teens are thought of as lazy, immature, but why won't they? Teens were always working well before the 19th century, but now do not. Why? because they are not allowed too. My cousin started a non-for profit organization that donates money to kids with cancer, and HE WAS ONLY 15. My cousin got onto the Boston Whitecaps at age 17, and is slowly moving up the ranks. How dare you suggest that teens are such lazy things. If you want more info on what teens are doing, get this book, "Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris, who i believe were teens when they wrote the book. It is a phenomenal book that can change your life and view about teens.

Caleb Griffin, why in your adult years? If you have time you can learn in any age. I'm 13, almost 14, started learning English as 12. I don't really know if I am actually fluent, but I can communicate if the talk is about general subjects.

Lack of resources as of now except a twice weekly German Class an hour a piece, plus another hour's homework (at our school it's called home LEARNING because "it shouldn't be seen as a task but an opportunity to expand your knowledge"). German is fluent Language no 1 I wanna learn, next is Japanese because it's supposed to be among the most difficult to learn and (a more recently realised advantage believe it or not) I can watch action anime without missing shit because I was reading the subs, the final reason I picked it is because if the language is so different with words that english lacks it'll expand my understanding of things. 14 also by the way.

I recently did research on animal habitats being destroyed. One of the things I read about is that forests are being cut down, which means that sloths have no where to hide , rest, eat, and live. I saw this one article about how a sloth was wondering around on the streets because it’s home was destroyed. And while that sloth was crossing a road, it got ran over by a car. Sloths are slow and meant to live in trees with little movements. But now they can’t even live in peace. There’s only 6 species of them left. I almost cried when I saw that article because sloths are just like me. ( I might have gotten facts wrong but you get my point. Also my grammar is not the best because I’m not very good at English. Forgive me.)

Chumamabangedchupapa I’m sorry maybe they should make some sort of sloth bridge. I heard that power lines are shocking them and they get burns and sometimes die from it.
@weezact7
@weezact7 5 жыл бұрын
@@theresahall6197 Well, what would be the MOST help would be to curb the deforestation. Things like a sloth bridge are a nice idea (and certainly easier to implement), but ultimately, it only treats a symptom. It does nothing to cure the disease, so to speak. Loss of habitat due to pollution, deforestation, urban sprawl (and probably other reasons as well, those are just the ones I can think of off-hand) is probably the biggest threat to animal species today.
