Self-esteem: Years ago I was about 27, visiting Greece and - as usual - studied languages on a bench in a park. At a certain point I just noticed I understood the whole, long "Time" article except for 2 words... It took me roughly 10 years till that moment to learn English and the other 4 languages fluently. I realized I reached my goal, the super-difficult one, and my knowledge is solid and reliable. In that moment I realized my worth and the fact very few people can achieve this. Basically, 99% of people trying something this hard will fail. Since then I do not pay attention to someone's rebukes or praises: they are irrelevant! The satisfaction you can achieve something basically everyone you know cannot do is... Indescribable! Therefore... pick a hard-to-achieve goal ( 10 - 15 years ) and reach it. It will be worth it!

What I take away from this is not, “Oh WOW, I can be rich too!” But rather, it reminds me of is that life is short, and you need to get busy doing what you really want to do, because you don’t want to get near the end with regrets of what you could have done, but didn’t. Don’t be stuck in “Groundhog’s Day” every single day for the rest of your life. Make time for the things that are really important to you. For some people, that’s boatloads of money, but not for me.
