Why Did Nehemiah Close the Gates at Night for Sabbath?

Somehow, many have heard from illiterate scholars that this passage somehow sets the Sabbath at sunset because that is when Nehemiah closed the gates. However, those have clearly never tun a successful event, don't understand how markets work, and have no clue how the Sabbath operates and even in terms of the Jerusalem gates. We will cover Nehemiah 13 which never says Sabbath begins at sundown but actually firmly established the Sabbath and Bible day begin at sunrise. In the end, Ezekiel as well defines this in terms of the gates which would customarily, prior to Nehemiah, have been opened at sunrise for the Sabbath as that is when Sabbath begins. I picked up one of our laying hens and asked her if she knew Yahusha. She immediately perked up and start singing. Ever since I learned that all animals spoke the same language in the garden, it's easy to test. Dogs are the best example, you can practically have a conversation after their taught. Yah bless

As i live in modern israel I used to set up preparation done (cooking, and all the stuffs) away before the Sabbath rest philippine/Ophir day time or sunrise when the sabbath day begin. Sabbath shalom everyone. Yah bless

Great video. Good example given scripturally. Common sense would give a regular person the answer to this question of Sabbath. And when it begins. And when it ends. Closing the gates at night was not a unique thing for the Passover, or the Sabbath. But they can't have merchants setting up shops on the Sabbath, so its better to keep them out.

Indeed. We have a whole chapter on Sabbath's day of the week and it has always remained Sabado (Sabbath in name) which remains in languages all of the world or Saturday in the Roman paradigm, which has not changed. We even offer a chart of the areas around the world which call that day Sabbath in their language to this day. This has never been a mystery and no one ridiculing Saturday ever proves it not the Sabbath. Yah Bless.

Just a common sense, if the creation started with "let there be light", then light or sunrise is the beginning of the new day, and the biblical new year or head of days is on spring solstice, the coming of light. Mark 15:42, "And now when the evening was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath," Because the Sabbath begins at sunrise, evening is the preparation day before the Sabbath.

The moment you convinced me with your video about when a day starts and I see the logic in your presentation Day starts at sunrise, every time I come across the verse in Nehemiah I can akways understand that Nehemiah shut the gate on Friday nights. I am just saddened that our biblical scholars still has blinders on given thay favor the rabbinic (pharisaic) narrative of sunset to sunrise "day". I was wondering if the TGC team can make a video on how the Hebrews say the numbers and the months in Hebrew language? Is Etanim Hebrew for the month 7th? YHWH bless you always TGC.

Do you have a video explaining the function of the moon regarding figuring time ( as it seems Genesis 1:14-19 suggest the sun, moon, and stars were to be used together for signs, seasons, days, and years) , if it is not used to figure out months or days? In fact do you have video explaining the meaning when/why the Bible uses New Moon/month or chodesh in modern Hebrew and nouménia in Greek (Colossians 2:16) if it has nothing to do with the moon?

Watch When Does the Bible Day Begin? Series and we have broken down some of the passages for new moon but will be releasing 2 videos this week exposing that fraud fully. New moon is not even a Bible word. Its not there in Hebrew nor Greek. There is no New Moon Festival, it was a New Month Festival and even David directly tells you so and he's not the only one. Genesis never says the moon is to be used to determine days, months, weeks, nor years. It makes a general statement that all of scripture then, provides the detail that the Bible day always begins at sunrise and never at sunset. Even the 3 of 7 Feasts that begin in the evening because they are based on evening events, have calendars in which the day changes at sunrise. There are different sabbaths. There's High Sabbath and normal weekly sabbath. Days start at sunup.

We don't have a globe map. We use the Flat Earth Map multiple times in First Enoch and we use a hi resolution flattened map that also is not a globe in Jubilees. We originally mapped Jubilees on a Flat Earth Map but it did not suit our layout in the book. We'll keep using whichever is easier to teach effectively and we'll make that decision. Yah Bless.
