It's very telling that the very talents, directness, ambition, useful aggression, and abilities that are needed to succeed and lead in the real world are called "mean" by so many women in the community. Sadly, others can recognize, understand and want to use these things for their benefit and brothers should take full advantage of their opportunities. For those that share the "toxic, aggressive, or whatever" sentiment when in comes to dealing with black men that know their direction and worth feel free to find another store. And, don't get mad if you stop back by after driving around not finding what you need and then find the same store has a line around the corner of willing shoppers that know price is what you pay...value is what you get.

1st time listening to Kevin and he's is 100% on point. I was 25, black, single, no kids, athletic build and a college graduate when my husband and I meet. We meet in September, he popped the ? in December and we were married in May. He says even to this day if I had kids when we meet, we would not be married.🤷🏽‍♀️ He was not trying to raise another man's child....PERIOD. Physical fitness is important to high quality men. When other men say "dang she thick with it", all my husband see is a fat, unhealthy and undisciplined woman. He hates it when women just let themselves go. This can be hard to hear but real talk no sugar coating. My husband is black, successful, fit and a no nonsense man. Kevin and my husband seem to have a lot of the same views. Kevin great info....I will be tuning back in!!!

The Best part of this was hands down between 1:05:00 and 1:10:00 when Kevin explained to the young lady, exactly what kind of man she was asking for. I was 14 years old when I realized that I’d have to make at least six figures to live the lifestyle I wanted and provide for a family as well (about three kids and a wife). After 4 years of serving in the US Military and 5 years slaving away towards a Masters in Astronautical Engineering, (separating myself to achieve my goal), you think I’m gonna settle for a 6 just because you’re black, have a degree, and a decent paying job!? I already accounted for the fact that I’d be paying for everything, “and some”, when I was a teen. I don’t care about how much you make, or what degree you have. After prepping 15 years for my marriage... I just want a young, charming, attractive, feminine woman who won’t argue with me about cooking dinner and doing the dishes... I’ll handle everything else... But unfortunately, there aren’t many young black women who are able and/or willing... Why else do you think high value black men “marry out.” You want an old school husband, but don’t wanna be an old school wife... Excuse me for the rant. And thank you Kevin for explaining that to the young lady.
@Fay1106

Well ask your friends how many men want an old school wife. Most men take those women for granted. Btw if you find a woman who is above a 7 or 8 which is subjective to everyone because beauty is not the same for everyone. You think that type of woman is going to ruin her nails cooking and cleaning for you? And if she looks that good she will just leave you for a man that doesn't need her to do anything but be pretty and still pay the bills come on now. Lol if u want a old school wife expect her to look old school as well

@@laram8255 2 out of 10 men file for divorce, so your scenario is honestly highly unlikely. You also don't go through years with one woman just to leave her at the drop of a hat for another either. That only happens if you are unhappy with the woman you married. A high value man can marry a successful woman, because *money doesn't matter* to them. Kevin only says educated women are nightmares because they all tend to act a certain way that men do not like. If you are sucessful and know how to act right, you will be picked. Heck, you are expected to be picked. There was a whole video on why these educated women who should be winning aren't. Get your degree, have a fall back, but never forget that your degree isn't an asset and doesn't excuse you from the characteristics men normally look for in women. @@cherryblossoms942 I don't know what any Man has in there pockets, its not my business. But I do know a Man is considered a" Man" included but not limited to him being a provider, provision, protector for his family. In the way that the Most High provides for us. So, I listen to these videos because I'm wanting to gain knowledge and understanding about things I may be oblivious to that people on the outside looking in can see that I don't. But when I tune in, & see a Person speaking negatively or putting down women or anybody because they are so inflated with pride by there pocket (provider) but fail to provide correct provision ( talking down on but not uplifting & teaching) or not being a protector (that includes protecting my heart) then he is not ready for the platform just yet. It upsets me because men have seemed to have forgotten there role as a leader. This Man is an example of that by the disrespect & disregard of women he feels are not to his personal liking. He feels qualified to speak on what women do & don't do and how we can't have a so called "quality man" if we are not what he feels like we should. " Quality" is not money alone. Ugliness & degrading someone's character is not "quality" He is full of his self and needs to re evaluate his self

The sexual marketplace is wide open at the top end. You think that a guy who has fought to win in life (for a black man doubly so), and succeeded, is willing to compromise in his choice of partner? Not going to happen. Kevin hit the nail on the head, once you get to a certain level, you become about a certain level of person and that is all you will be around. This is because connections and relationships can benefit you more the higher up you go, and poor ones can be detrimental both personally and professionally. The competition up at the top can transcend race, so even if a black man has a preference for black women, he doesn't need to limit himself by making it a hard perquisite. I won't touch the attitude, masculinity and the combative issue with many educated professional black women (not al), but there are far to many examples on this very show that display what many high valued and even middle of the road black men have seen North America wide. I attempted to date a black woman who was lawyer a few years back. She tried to dominate me from the jump - as fine as she was, I bailed quickly. To much of a headache with an incessant need to be right and she was extremely argumentative (as a lawyer I expected as much). The competition angle is cold hard truth that many black women hate when it comes to interracial dating; they expect 100% "loyalty" especially from high value black men, without any burden of performance. Men who make it that far (Henry's), don't make bad deals. Equal value for equal value. Men are asked to compete or lose everyday, the minute that some of these woman are asked to do the same, the "Take me as I am" rhetoric starts. Great show.

All these excuses and all to say what about black women? They aren’t as equal value? It’s funny cause at the end of the day that black men will use these excuses to date outside of their race. (Which is fine.) but they always bash black women in the process). Also your last paragraph about how black women expect 100% from high value black men. So I’m guessing those high value black men front expect 100% loyalty from their partners as well huh? So it’s ok for women of other ethnicity’s to want 100% loyalty from their partners? Just not black women? Hmmm Interesting.

@jeffreychapple5705 3 жыл бұрын
I think the reason why high value black men prefer white women is just one thing: attitude. When you are affluent and image is everything, being embarassed is just not acceptable. When a black woman is mad at you, everyone within two city blocks will know it. When a white woman is mad at you, she will pull you into a locked room and let you know her disappointment in private. Each of them will be passionate about their anger towards you but the black woman might not care about being embarassed while letting you know how she feels. A white woman will care. That is my take on the subject.

As a black girl what I’ve noticed is that other races of women that bm tend to go for are just more feminine. I’ve realized it’s not about skin color but more about character. A lot of them put effort into their looks and are into working out and eating healthy. They are also more soft and humble and super supportive even in a relationship. Look at Kim and Kanye for example, she may have her own business but she doesn’t walk around throwing it down people’s throats, and she’s super supportive of Kanye and his business. Even if these women are in college and pursuing certain careers they still manage to maintain their feminine charm which is why many of them manage to find their husbands while in college or in their early 20s.

I wouldn't say character, but TRAITS. Feminine TRAITS. These traits imo are a prerequisite women must show while dating and being courted by men. These are the traits that make men more likely to want to marry a woman. Submissivness and compliancy in particular. You have women out here that wanna pull a fast one and say "im not submitting to no man but I'll submit to my husband only". I dont think those traits are on/off switches you cut on or off anytime you want. I think they're either a part of you or not.

yep, that is how i was taught to be a wife, all of us girls catered to our father. he was spoiled by my mom and us daughters. he returned the favor. not only did i learn from my mother how to cook, bake, grocery shop, plan meals for a month, clean, do laundry, how to iron, and sew, pay bills, budget, i learned how to be in a relationship with a man, by watching her. my mom worked hard, but my father worked harder, and provided for us all. my mom let my father lead our family. i saw my mom dress up for our dad and cater to his every need when he was home. mom ran the house, made sure we kept it clean and respected our dad. because she respected him and loved him, no matter what he did. i had a lot of her ways, so i got married after i graduated high school. i was able to do everything my mom did. and i was happily married for a long time.

When I do muster a little time to watch its 90% documentaries (true crime, business, history, fashion), Ted talks, sci-fi, G.O.T, things that help me perfect my craft. Don’t laugh... but the last time I remember watching black media was probably when “Martin” was on air. Probably aging myself with that one :p

My Brotha. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your channel. Our women don’t realize the programming and conditioning we’ve had that has put us in our present condition. I learned this by living with my bi-racial ex boyfriend years ago and learned these hard lessons that you are trying to teach Black Woman while watching his white Mother and how she treated his Father. I then realized it is how you make a man FEEL. Unfortunately the woman who called in who you were having challenges with just refused to humble herself, be quiet and come out of defense mode. That’s a big problem with us. Your conversation with the younger Sistah and a post on IG really summed it all up: Black women are raised to be independent and not to be a wife. It’s so sad but true. This is the elephant in the room that most black woman are to prideful to talk about and it’s keeping us in our present situation. I do believe colorism exists BUT at the same time I have had some foiyne Black men and I’m brown skinned with 4C hair so my color has not stopped me from getting fine ass Brothas, lol 😆. So I DO BELIEVE it’s your attitude, how you carry yourself and what you bring to the table. Also many of us need to learn to love our black selves and learn to embrace our natural hair. I know a lot of black women are too lazy to making the time to take care of their own hair and will pop a wig on and that’s a problem. They make a gazillion excuses but at the end of the day it show laziness and that you don’t like how you look.They don’t realize how unattractive this is to men. Many black men were also raised by narcissistic black Mothers. This too has not been addressed. I cringed watching the movie, Antoine Fisher😫🤦🏾‍♀️We have so many generational bad habits passed down that we MUST FACE if we are to heal the Black Male/Female relationship.😪Of course I’m not excusing black men because both parties are responsible. But we STAY blaming black men for everything and never take an honest look at Black women’s role in our demise. I do believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I don’t believe you have to be a 8, 9 or 10 for a high value man but you do have to be a high value woman. I see Black men with women of other races who are below 6 all the time so I KNOW there are other traits making them high value women. Anyways, we as a people need TOUGH LOVE and I so appreciate you for being THAT GUY. 🤴🏾And I love how you carry yourself. Go head on my Brotha with ya BADSELF. All the best to you and yours.🤜🏾🤛🏾🤗🤴🏾👑😌🙏🏽

My 3 best friends are lovely dark chocolate women, married to wonderful hard working men. Only one divorced and doesn't have children, but she has no problem getting dates. The other 2 have children, live in beautiful homes, and one is a stay at home mom in texas. The other works just part time, but they kept themselves in shape and are fun and pleasant to be around. The two that are married have been married longer than I, and I've been married 10 years. A competitive women doesn't concern herself with negativity, they just become the best versions of themselves. And my friends husbands are wonderful black men, 1 with his own business and the other with a great career in biology. A pleasant attitude and staying at a healthy weight really puts you ahead of so many. Be responsible with your finances too and have a fulfilling life. You should be passionate about your goals, have fun hobbies, learn new things and try safe new activities. Be an interesting person to yourself first. Happiness attracts. But having a victims attitude is draining. Most black people know colorism exists, just like racism and sexism, but taking on a defeatist attitude won't stop it. You have to become your own best advocate no matter the odds to get success. You only need one great man to respect and admire for marriage. Great show, yet again.

@@jimsmith9981 Everything I've learned about being a worthwhile woman I was taught in the Nation of Islam beginning at 14 years of age when I moved into my father's home. They have a class on femininity called MGT and GCC (Muslim girls training and general civilization class ). They are on KZfaq. They teach women 7 basic units- cooking, cleaning, rearing children, care of a husband, sewing, how to act inside the home, and outside the home. We are taught that true beauty is in your obedience to God and keeping your weight healthy. Modesty, elegant manners, education, martial arts and artistic endeavors are pushed. Along with study of the Holy Quran, Bible, and many more books for daily self improvement. I couldn't tell anyone anything better than those classes.

But she was way too confrontational when I was not even bothering her. When I started to fade to black, she inquired, I told her that I needed peace. This chick basically yelled telling me, "I am your peace!" That. Was the beginning of the end! Lol 😆.

Wow. Great show and host. Just adding my 2 cents as a viewer: The interesting part about the woman named Tao, is that many "corporate minded/leadership position types " such as herself, fall short when communication is challenged between the opposite sex. The women usually feel the need to be right or get the last word...even if it creates heavy friction. Our ego goes into overdrive and exhibit extra masculine energy. If we were operating "more" from our feminine energy, it would display patience and letting the man finish. Self control, compromise, and seeking a successful outcome. The ability to balance the energies, within self and outside of self. I've been guilty of this and definitely working on it, as I strive to bring peace and balance within my current relationship. The need to always be right or fight to get your point across is like winning the battle and not the war.

As a singular competitive black woman, I was highly affected by colorism. I have never been combative with any man, don't believe in it, but I don't want to feel owned when I have my own house, business, job etc. I was wanting a man to step up to allow me to be a stay at home wife and mom, but black men would tell me about what they thought I would before they actually met me.
