This video explores the questions of why we work and why we often hate to work. Since we as humans are destined to work, we can help ourselves by understanding why we work, so we eventually, hopefully, do no longer hate to do it.

Hey man great video. I really appreciate your use of examples. Often in videos about philosophy it's something missing or hard to grasp. Cheers!

A sensation of the alienated work is a result of an effort being misplaced within the meaningful social order as we perceive it, the work that doesn't advance or "ennoble" human relations that have meaning for us. Can parents in any way feel that actions invested in the well-being of their child are a form of alienated work? Does helping your friends produce such feelings? When we perceive that our work doesn't contain enough symbolic value and is displaced from our immediate psychological environment - we feel the emptiness, senselesness of these actions.

So, to overcome our alienation we just need to think differently about it?

Work is defined as: a force does work on an object if the object is displaced in the DIRECTION of the forced. You are missing a multiplication by a cosine In your definition. Because a force can be applied on an object, but the displacement is perpendicular to the force applied, thus no work is done

"we only feel happy when we know we are surviving"... Clearly not. for example, what in the Freudian framework is called Death Drive, there are behaviours which go against pleasure. And there are far more behaviours which oppose survival but still achieve pleasure. Examples are not accepted by KZfaq tho :(
