I continue my slow but steady vert skateboarding progress on a beautiful fall day at Pier 62 Skatepark in Chelsea, NYC. In this session I focus on my getting comfortable in the bowl, building up frontside carves, bs slash grinds, fs slash grinds, and other basic lip tricks. Dude seeing you skate vert makes me want to do it more. When you grow up skating street it kind of feels like you can't cross over so it's nice to see someone who didn't grow up skating massive pools try it out once they get older.

George and Josh have true vert potential. I can see it. Good knee sliding + Good transition tricks + getting a good line. Slowly but surely they'll get better. I can see Geroge doing a back nose blunt in the deep end for sure. 🤟

I'm glad I got back into skating transition. It's loads of fun and gets me back to some of the things I liked in skating when I was a kid, but with all new stuff to learn. I like that it kind of stands out sometimes, I like working on airs, and planting my hands and feet for all sorts of flair. It's nice to have the option to either plan your line, or just flow the bowl spontaneously. Have you considered trying hand plants and hand turns? They're so much fun, plus getting low and bending the knees makes skating big ramps way less scary. It can really help build up tricks, especially for the deep end.

You've always have been growing your transition skill, don't sell yourself short. I see you on the qp's, mini ramps and vert ramps, locking in those back D's and pivot fakies. Even here, you got the right idea of bunching up into a ball. Pools are just initially spooky because they're cement and so tall. The one advantage to skating pools is that you can always start really small and build up. You're doing great, but more importantly, I'm just glad to see you having fun.

Good to see you back in a bowl, as weird as it may sound it’s actually safer to go faster, the centrifugal force sticks you to the wall better , Go fast stay low and you’ll stay on. And then if you do feel t he need to bail going to your knees is a piece of cake when you are already low and your speed turns into a very easy knee slide. 👊🏼 p.s the kid in the blue hoody looked like Bombette Martin’s little brother Kayo , they both rip at vert skating (Bombette skated for Great Britain 🇬🇧 in the Olympics).

Watched a video you did from two years ago when you first dropped in deep end of pool. Did you ever get some air out of pool yet? You got the pads man, do it! Don't keep putting it off... ! Before you know it , your gonna run out of time!
