I take riboflavin (B2) supplement to help prevent migraines. If I happen to have had a lot of food with riboflavin in it also, I will get the neon yellow pee.

yeah it’s not lime green though, more like green-ish yellow. I usually eat a lot of asparagus at this time of the year because they’re not available fresh for a long time during the year. I was wondering about other things that make your urine smelly.

They did not do both. All mammals that have ever lived are descendants from a small, shrew-like animal that evolved on land, which in turn evolved from tetrapods that already lived on land before it. Mammals started out as land-dwelling beings about 200 millions years ago, and were only able to diversify after the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event. All marine mammals are descendants from land-dwelling ones. It would be impossible for them to evolve in water first and then go onto land. Interestingly, the process of returning to the sea happened independently 3 times, all around 50 million years ago, so not all sea-mammals are related to each other.

Pena Pena Urinary tract infection. Could be urethra, bladder, or ureter, where it can travel to the kidney and cause kidney problems or pelvic inflammatory disease

I'm in med school and I took a urine analysis class a couple of months ago. We ate different foods to see what it would do to it. I ate tomatoes and it made my urine smell earthy and had a slight pink hue to it.

There is another source of red urine I used a few times to shock people. The red pine mushroom (according to Wikipedia it is the red pine mushroom in English, in German it is the Blutreizker [Blood mushroom]) has a red milk that also colours the urine red. The mushroom itself is very delicious and when cooking them for friends who don't know the properties I tend to "forget" to tell them...

I had really bright orange once about 4 days after recovering from an extremely harsh 3 week stomach virus that made it so the only nutrients I was getting properly were from medicated ice poles. Other than that 90% of the time my urine is 100% clear because I drink a ton of water. Probably more than I should really.

sorry, but there is true purple. drink a half gallon of grape juice. my pee and poop are both purple for about two days. it's dark purple, but still purple.

Food dye can cause all sorts of interesting colors. I've peed red and pink from beets and watermelon, and possibly green from too much green food coloring (in a certain ice cream or soda). I've also pooped every shade of the spectrum since he brought it up (though thankfully never all at once). You'd be amazed what blue soda can do.

I've had the bright orange from the UTI antibiotics. It's wild. Also, I definitely get the neon green-yellow from energy drinks, so I guess that's from riboflavin!

My ex's mother has this great story from when he was on some form of medication that turned ALL of his bodily fluids & waste orange. He cried because he saw his poop was orange and he cried orange tears, then cried more because he was scared by his orange tears.

Thats weird, I've been given propofol quite a few times due to a constantly dislocating shoulder as well as 2 surgeries for it and my urine didn't change colour at all. If I ever need it again I'll be sure to check properly haha

My urine was coffee-brown once from rhabdomyeliosis, which was actually a symptom of my pleural effusion. A lung infection had gotten into my pleural cavity and had crushed my lung flat with the half-gallon of pus that had taken up the space.

there was an "outbreak" here in the northeast coast of Brazil where a lot of people where peeing black,they died soon after. Luckily it didn't spread beyond that.

I take sulfasalazine for arthritis, and it results in highlighter pee! It can also result in yellow tears, but I can't say I've noticed that!

So back in high school I randomly started noting that my pee was red. Naturally this freaked me out. Come to find out that this is occasionally a symptom that distance runners experience and I had just started running track and cross country. If you're a runner and you're noting red pee, don't worry. It's normal.
