As a Canadian skateparks are just few and far between. Our brutal year round weather definitely makes it difficult to make consistent parks, and brings out more indoor facilities. Not enough, though. Nothing beats going 50km/hr down a hill knowing you are the only thing between you and certain doom. Shred the gnarrr

When I was a teenager I would warmup in the streets then go to the skatepark to stunt on ppl with the tricks I learned in the streets. My friend laughed at me and told me it is supposed to b the other way around. From my perspective growing up the streets were where I could learn in solitude where the park was more of a social gathering place. This was back when DFW skate parks were not abundant so street skating was 100 percent more common for me

i’m not the biggest fan of skating to flex, but both of you guys had a point. flexing on other skaters might get more recognition while flexing on random pedestrians might get a little clap. cops are kinda annoying sometimes tho

I like going to the skatepark because there's almost no good street spots where I live, and when I go to the few spots I know, I always get kicked out quickly and usually get the cops called on me.

Honestly, as a teacher it's pretty risky for me to street skate. I really can't afford to get a bunch or tresspassing or vandalism tickets so parks are great for me. If I do street skate I try to get out there super early in the morning with some of the homies.

Skateparks are like a playground I take my skateboard to, I'm very grateful for them but I hardly ever go and they're definitely not what comes to mind when I think of skating. Some people are the opposite, sometimes they might skate somewhere and do a few tricks on the way that they've been practising at the park. To each their own, were all just having fun

The switch back smith 180 is an insane one! Seems so easy for you that you dont give it enough credit I think you should do that trick at a street spot! or switch backside flip out :)

I started skating at 7 years old (had to do what my big bro was doing!) and although I wasn't personally skating the streets around Tulsa at the time around 2002, that's all we had aside from a metal park and an indoor which was expensive for my family. Throughout time we have obtained several high class parks. 20 years later and I'm still at it and forever thankful for the amazing parks Tulsa, OK has to offer. Unless I were trying to go pro or was a teen or young 20's, I would say forget street skating and stay safe at the nice parks:)

It's funny becuase my local skate shop owner was instrumental in getting my local skate park built but at the same time he is always crappy on people and looking down on the skaters that actually skate at the park.

Judging anyone based off of specific geographical location, especially over something as inconsequential as flipping around a piece of wood that's attached to wheels... Just seems strange at best and petty at the very least. Objectively speaking, it doesn't mean anything. As long as you're having fun and it means something to you, then nobody can come along and tell you you're doing anything wrong. This entire premise is what created the gap between KZfaq skaters and pros at first. Yes, obviously pros have always had to work really hard to make money and maintain their position in that world, but now that they see you can make a living with skateboarding without burning yourself out completely, they've been more inclusive. But I think there's just been a level of maturity involved where people are realizing that skateboarding isn't the meaning of life and that everyone is entitled to do what they want with it, especially if they're successful by incorporating it into their entrepreneurial and business endeavors. I love skateboarding so so much, but I recognize it's just a tool like any other. There are no eternal militant rules we have to answer to. That's the point and why we love it so much. Good work, John 🙏

Australia has some awesome skateparks, so yeah, let's use them and tell the local councils to invest money in what we want (more skateboarding places). Plus you can also skate on the streets no worries.

I like how you break things down in your videos. Your skating is very consistent and clean. You seem like you give thought through things and never wing it. Compare to other skate vlogs yours is very easy to listen to. If all that makes sense. Keep it up

The entire point of a skate parks was to keep us off the street. Pulling a sick trick on the street or in a park is irrelevant of the location. But skateboarding has been come a bit more acceptable in the streets in some areas, and high unacceptable in others. When people judge skaters for where they’re skating and not what they’re able to pull of, it’s pure stupidity.

I don't hate skateparks, I hate the fact that many skateboarders do not skate streets often. It becomes a playground for skateboarders who think that skateboarding is all about tricks. It's not and should never be.
