Haha, I'll have to get that in the works! I really like the functionality, customizations and control in iCue but there's just time where I'm like "what the actual F***?" 🤣

I've had this exact keyboard for almost a year now. No issue with QC. I use volume control every day, super useful! Love the typing experience. If anything, this keyboard is so sensitive I'd say I make more typos than my previous keyboards. Just slightly brushing a neighboring key and it registers. No matter, I don't regret my purchase. I use it for gaming and work. Excellent keyboard.

Right on the spot, really good review, keep it up mate. Just got mine with 60% discount here in my country, amazing flash sale. Already have a k70 SE for 4 years now and it's not working properly anymore, shame. Was planning to go for the k100 opx, but then I got this sale and decided to try it out. Was a bit worried about being low profile, but hope I like it. Take care and keep up the good work, cheers mate.

Awesome review! Very in-depth and informative. I'd definitely like to see a video about iCue; I only have the Light Loop fans, so I'm curious as to how well other peripherals integrates.

I'll have to get that in the works - I have the keyboard and the Void Pro wireless headset but what might be fun is buying a load more corsair stuff, connect it all to iCue and go investigate / analyse from a product perspective

Thanks a lot mate, your video is what sold me on getting one! But the USB 3.0 passthrough is an ideal - as it would ramp up the production and more importantly QA/QC cost! The passthrough is meant for headset/mouse, there are 3 issues with using it for data transfer: - Use case is pretty rare, so increasing production cost for this will likely mean a less desirable keyboard for most people - Better ports are required (fem on the keymoard, man on the cable), but the cable would also need to change - If you market the keyboard for data transfer, you need to make sure it can and add speed test to your QC

@@zadovell I have actually not been a big fan of SteelSeries switches and overall feel. BUT, it's very subjective to be honest - you might love them. I would probably recommend to buy both if you can - from a place with a good returns policy. Try them both out for a day or two to make up your mind and return the other 😊 hope this helps dude!

One big thing I do like about the pass-through is that I use it for the wireless bluetooth adapter for my game controller. My PC is under my desk and most of its USB ports are on the back, so the signal can get a bit jittery at times, but plugging it into this keyboard, I've never had any issues since.

Very nice review. The USB 2.0 seems to be a plague that affects all manufacturers. Since most versions on the market are less than two years old, it makes little sense that any of them are still doing 1) pass through for power only, and 2) anything less than USB 3.0. All the same, since functionality is limited I only use the one on mine for charging devices.

I just bought this keyboard and got it today so that volume scroll quality control this is on mine as well, must have been a bad batch? or maybe all of them are made like this by design?

Bro so I’m typed on k70 Mx speed and I really really really loved it I was quite satisfied. I’m currently using razer green switch’s but I liked the Mx speed much more. So my question is should I get the normal k70 with Mx speed or low profile because I can’t try the low profile but I’m really considering k70 Mx speed???????????

Does the secondary characters like "@" or "?" also illuminate? This is lacking on other keyboards like Logitech G915 and Razer Blackwidow Elite which I don't like. Great review by the way!

I love my K70 Low profile. And I have to disagree with your first hate point. I love and I need that space bar clingi sound. Keyboards in the past always had this metal bar to stabilize the key. So i'm used to that sound since the early 90s. I wouldn't buy a keyboard without that sound, so please Corsair, don't listen to him ;)

I'm currently using this keyboard, it's a great board but I'm switching to the K70 MK2 SE for the PBT keycaps and better keycap compatibility. The ABS plastic keys and way they feel slippery after prolonged gaming sessions is not to my liking. However, it's different for everyone and if you are considering buying this board it doesn't disappoint at all.

What about the sensitivity? I have a Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire Cherry MX Speed and I feel it too responsive for my taste. I mean, it is too easy to press the keys while resting the fingers over the keyboard, something that is very common if you type with ten fingers. Some times when I realize I already have a lot of "sssssssssssssssssss" into my document.

The volume roll plastic has a screw under it and it makes it easy for dissassembly

Ky kid just got the TKL size K70 with silver switches.... I now want the full size one, but not sure if I want low profile, or speed switches, or... kinda wish I had an easier way to try some in stores. Going to spend some time with his TKL and see how I like the silvers.... the cable really should be a removable one like on the TKL version... might get another just like his and add a separate 10-key pad for when I need that ...

Have you found your enter key to have a coarser sound? I found mine has a rougher metal feel and sound compared to the rest of the keys, even the space key. Have a feeling it's quality control so wondering if I should return this one and try my shot with another one just cus it does get somewhat annoying

I have a silver version. It feels like the keys are heavier than my other cherry normal-height keyboard. Do you feel the same way? I couldn't find any online review mentioning this.

To be honest, I can't remember the exactly feeling of each switch. I pretty much need to do a side-by-side comparison haha. Which cheers did you have? The actuation force may well be different. Also, anything you would add to the loves and hates list? Would be really interested to know. Cheers dude 👍

Just a note: Check to make sure the passthrough USB connection is actually plugged into a usb 3.0 port on your system. I had the same issues with my Corsair strafe and it was simple as that.

Yeah, was plugged into the same USB I used to compare against the USB 3.0 hub speed, to eliminate variables

Just got my first Corsair board today. This exact one I think. Mk2 K70 LP RF with low profile Cherry speed silvers. Amazing bit of kit. For the $99 price tag you cannot go wrong. The sound test you hear here... Is a bit exaggerated. MOST of the noise you here is him bottoming the keys out. This is the quietest keyboard mechanical ive ever heard. Quieter than my sons El-cheapO membrane imitation mech keyboard we got at biglots. Also, The passthrough is an amazing bit of simple joy for my kids to plug headsets into rather than have to get at the tower plugs.

I don't suppose you'd be in a position to share me a copy of your firmware for this keyboard? I have just restored a lovely K70 mk.2 and iCue has bricked it during an update attempt. I'm guessing the firmware will be the same as functionality is identical. You might already know this but your firmware folder storage on the keyboard can be accessed by activating the pinhole button under the right foot of the keyboard. A window will pop up displaying the firmware and from here you can grab a copy. Cheers for any info shared...

If that wrist-rest can't be removed I won't be buying it. It'll get in my way. Sadly, it's the only thing that would stop me buying it. The space bar however should have two connections underneath. I've already sent a machine back like that because a typist usually only hits one side of the bar and it ended up sticking in no time at all.

It's typically to stabilize the space bar as it's a much longer key... But honestly, not entirely sure with this one as it's not attached to the key and it has stabilizers either side 🤔

I have had this keyboard for a while and me and my friends rather like the space bar sound. We like that it is different then the other keys. So no problem there. And I don’t a have a wonky side piece on the volume wheel. Probably happened in shipping.

I also like icue. Yes it is difficult to learn, but it’s complexity allows for almost unlimited customization. I mean I can watch a light saber duel on my keyboard, someone else made it I just downloaded it.

@@Bclamp1 hey! Thanks for dropping in and taking the time to cover your experiences. Yeah, I think different is fine but (and this will be personal preference) the rattle is not a nice sound. You can tell that the noise from the space bar wasn't a design decision as the bar just isn't snug in place - no one in a product design meeting was like "let's not secure that bar because it will sound great" and I assume it's a cost saving measure. Cheers for the letting others know about the wonky side piece by the volume wheel - happy to know that it is at least not an issue with all of them! Oh, don't get me wrong - out of all of them iCue is 100% the best. I did a recent video on how to get your Asus Motherboard setup with official iCue support and if you have one, you 100% should! - but iCue is just stupid in a few infuriating ways from a digital product perspective. If I type a couple of them out, this comment is going to get a lot longer than it already is 🤣 happy to elaborate if asked.

Cable is thick because.... it enables solid 1000hz and that’s why the k70’s have best latency ;)

Not that I remember - it was about 7 months ago when I was in store testing side by side but I don't remember being like "this ones louder". Hope that helps!

Lol this dude used the USB pass through for a flash drive... bro it's intended to be used for either a headset or mouse. That's all I ever used my passthrough for.
