hey Derek, I just wanted to say how much your videos have helped me over the last few months. I have been going through a huge rough patch in my life. I figured out my dad was cheating on my mom and now they are going through a divorce. I also have been very isolated from being myself in my little Texan town. the only things I really have going for me right now are yours and other vegan food creators' videos, my girlfriend who is also going through a tough time, and a lott of punk/ metal music. I know you do this for the animals but I just wanted to say that you are at least saving one human life as well. you liking my mushroom steaks on Instagram kept me going when I really needed a boost. love what you do for the animals and people like me, keep it up. (ps. that mushroom steak impressed my whole family and really seemed to push my mom closer to being plant-based, and solidified it for my grandma so good job)

I gotta remember not to watch Wicked Kitchen videos when I'm hungry. I'm drooling.

This looks absolutely bomb! I suppose these mushrooms would be amazing in a wrap or simply a buddha bowls too! So many amazing flavours and textures in there! Also, what a great mushroom pulling/breaking technique - I usually pull them fully with a fork but this seems to work so much better! . Thank you Derek for another wonderful recipe! Can't tell you how happy I am that I found this channel

I began caramelizing broccoli and was forever changed to always utilize the technique. Mushrooms had always been that fungus with a squishy texture and marginal flavor. I am now so convinced that any mushroom can taste delicious and crispy that I'm getting Oyster and King Oyster mushrooms! I already use Shitake mushroom powder on any food (it would make a cracker taste amazing) but your recipes and techniques are truly a game changer Derek!

Just made this for the family. My mushroom hating kids had no idea this wasn't pulled pork and are now kind of in shock. Very good!

Can’t you use the 2 cast-iron pan pressing technique on king oysters? I bought 2 pans, then worked out I’m not allergic to soy sauce or garlic or ginger; I’m allergic to oyster clusters. King oysters are fine tho, beats me 🤷🏻

I can’t buy oyster mushrooms in the very small rural town that I live in. Can I use thinly sliced portobello mushrooms? Or is there any commonly available mushroom type that would work as a substitute?
