Much less in a society that looks down on that while having a wife that begins at act different towards you. Also his hours got cut, he earned less and he had to adapt to be, basically, a SAHD. Gee, I wonder why he is making mistakes and isnt perfect at something hes *new* at. Then she learns exacly what he was doing to make her life easier that she *didnt* see.

We no longer live in a world where a parent can _afford_ to stay home, depending on where you are. Maybe, even 10 years ago, it would've been completely possible. Not anymore. Not saying that SAH parents don't have their hands completely full 24x7. It's now a balancing game for the coming generations.

Because of health issues is was not able to work so i stayed at home while my wife worked full time. I learned a lot about what she had done for years and vice versa. It made us both stronger and made our love even stronger. My wife admitted same feelings as op in story one at first. A bit of jalousy and sadness. She even had simular thoughts as op. She thinks she's life's main hero and therefore by definition can't be the villain. The very concept of her being an abuser never crossed the cobwebs between her ears. You'll notice that even at the end where she's claiming she identifies herself as the villain, she still happily took the kids as full custody, as if she was the better parent. She hasn't changed a BIT.

Have a friend who went through a tough divorce that she initiated. It really wrecked his world. They almost reconciled but then she opened her mouth and ruined that as well but that was a good thing because she really just wanted the house in the divorce. Now years later she'll try every few months to test the reconciliation waters with him and he keeps denying her. Ladies and gentlemen if your spouse isn't cheating on you, abusive towards you or the kids then really consider do you want that divorce before seeking counseling or family therapy. Once you burn that bridge you shouldn't be surprised that your ex never wants to rebuild it again.

Especially taking as long as she did to realize she fucked up! It gave him enough time to "go through the motions and realize just how bad she was!" So by the time "she learned her lesson and wants to start over!" His good will has been spent and the "love" that shackled him to her (his desperate wish for her to take him back prior) was shattered forever! Maybe she should find the guy she cheated on him with and hope he didn't move on to the next "taken chick to bang!" because she ghost him long enough that he had to realize the magic is gone and to not be "the sucker fool" he'd best move on quickly so he'd feel superior that "she's still obsessed with him when he long lost interest rather then be the fool thrown away!" (I never see cheaters and those who willingly have a relationship with one they know working out even if the "if they cheat on you" rule didn't apply! I see them liking it only because of the "Taboo" of what their doing and the fear of getting caught and orchestrate for it it brings! Basically their like adrenaline junkies....so when they stop cheating and get together....the magic's gone since now their straight up together! Meaning it's only a matter of time before one or both cheat to get that "rush" back or they break up normally which I doubt they'll do because then they won't get that "rush" from breaking up after "getting caught or thinking they got away with breaking up and the cheating scot free!" All it takes it "one taste" to hook you and make you an addict....but eventually it will takes it's toll on you! Why they say "never make a deal with the devil, like Vegas THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS!" and in this case it's your "base bad human nature" you allowed to be unleash leading you to "the inevitable outcome EVEN A FUCKING CHILD COULD SEE COMING MILES AWAY!)

Me too it's especially good that she took so long before she finally f****** apologized! If she had realized earlier her stupidity and beg for forgiveness he likely would have forgiven her and got back together with her and we'd be on countdown for when she falters to Temptation again because we all see she didn't learn her lesson at all and sooner or later that feeling she had that made her sabotage her not rich but still happy life will start to sink in. This is why you can never trust cheaters if they fell for Temptation ones don't fall for it again because right now they're making the same mistake that made them cheat in the first place they're running on emotions completely and utterly! She's only sorry because she feels bad emotions now she feels the guilt and all that stuff! Which is why I say it's great that she only started to reflect in apologize after he got past the point where he would have jumped back in with her! That's why people always seem to take back Traitors like this because they're still in the emotional stage where they feel it's all their fault for something they didn't do! As she pointed out she never once explained what he did wrong she just expected him to know all these things he was looking for every excuse to self-sabotage I know because I screwed myself out of a program I was in a decade ago with the same mindset I became so tired of learning and not doing that I started to sabotage myself avoiding the classes not getting to them on time not studying eventually the end result happening I failed out it's only after I was given the boot did I finally realized what the f*** I was doing! Every time I made those bad decisions I felt like something took over my mind for a second like all emotions just closed up and it became easy to make those bad decisions! It's never appeared again but I guess it's because now that I saw the problem and recognized the issue it never shows itself again!

What OP still doesn't seem to understand is that she was in an abusive relationship. She was the abuser. Anytime one person does something for the purpose of hurting another, that is abuse. She is not taking any personal responsibility at all, at the end she is still condescendingly preaching to people on reddit regarding marriage and divorce. Big takeaways: - she got the promotion and he got fired, gender roles ended up essentially reversed from “traditional”. While he struggled originally in a home role, she used the word “resent” to describe her feelings about him being at home all day. And they tell me this is all a social construct - this woman is straight up abusive. If her husband worked full time, then he wasn’t doing enough at home. If he was at home, he needed to bring in more money. When asked what she actually wanted, she gave him an answer where he couldn’t win. It’s like when a company hands out a PIP to a worker with all sorts of vague requirements to keep one’s job. There’s essentially nothing the worker can do, but the company “gave them a chance”. She toyed with him and broke him. Didn’t like that he stayed at home? Well you had years to address that like a real adult. Instead you decided to become a passive aggressive witch. - she was terrible to him for years, but didn’t hear up divorce talk until she had another man. And she even broke it off with him because she was confident that she could find another man easily. It was only when she realized she couldn’t that she ended up on the therapists couch. - not once did she mention her children until after the part where she divorces. Literally, giving her kids a quality home wasn’t important. Now 4 young people will have to grow up with the scar of seeing their beloved father (who seems somewhat weak, but fundamentally a good person) get totally discarded by their selfish mother.

Not that I disagree completely but. You realise one of the reasons for the stupid affair and divorce was advice in the Internet. I'm sure in her first post she wouldn't have described the same situation in those words. She would've said deadbeat husband, lazy, and a dead bedroom. And while I don't think people who watch these videos would condone cheating they would give divorce as an option for those reasons. Recently there was a video about a wife who was flirting with another man but was prevented from doing anything stupid and as a result had 6 more years of a great marriage. People in the comments were suggesting that the OPs husband should divorce her even though she did not even kiss the guy... Point being you only ever get part of the story so careful with the words and advice you give. Even in this story there are so many factors we don't know.

I wotked from home but brought in twice the money, did all the shopping and cooking, ran the finances, drove our kids to and from school and activities, did the majority of the housework, all of the yardwork, repairs, etc. I took care of her and the kids in sickness. After a few years, wife said she wasnt happy, then started disappearing all night, and telling our friends about our 'horrible' marriage. She finally announced that she had accepted a job in another state, packed up and left. Not even 2 months later, she was living with another guy (before the divorce went through). I learned later that relationship had also went wrong. Years removed, she texts me all the time saying " 'we' made a mistake" and that she wants to get back together. Nah, I'm good. But I dont wish her any a Ill will. In fact, I sincerely wish she finds the happiness she's looking for.

Yeah, I get pissed at my boyfriend but really it’s cuz he could’ve got a better job working with me easily but he decided to go somewhere else which I told him they weren’t going to pay or give him the hours he was claiming. And guess what that exact thing happened, he has to watch our kid now for the three days I work and I always have to hear him bitching and complaining “the baby kept me up all night”, “help me I don’t know what to do with him”, or “I work harder cuz I have to watch your kid” it’s infuriating cuz he hasn’t worked for two weeks and every time I come home he’s done nothing but watch tv and the baby. Plus the bitching and moaning is complaining seeing as how I watched him by myself while my boyfriend was working and still do majority of the week while my boyfriend leaves us alone or goes to do something else. He works some days NOW and when he does he’s an arrogant ass telling me “hurry up I have to go to work at this time” or leaves all the child care to me even though I work the same time he does, doesn’t help he accepted a random shift and didn’t tell me about it till 4 hours before work while in that time we were rushing to find a sitter because for some reason this idiot thought I could suddenly take off of work and watch him while also waking me from the limited sleep I have between shifts to take care of the baby even though he can and there is no reason for him to do so since he didn’t work either.

She was shooting a steady stream of piss on their marriage for about a year. He sounds nice, but really emotionally soft. And even he doesn't want her back. That should tell you something about her. The real lesson here is to fight for your marriage only if the other person is on board. If your spouse is shrugging you off, that's a good time to rethink being married to this person.

It may be just for the kids! Let's be real here the moment they hit 18 and become adults no longer the law keeping them from their father or any of that garbage guess who's going to be seeing his kids a lot often and probably even getting close to Future grandchildren and guess who's going to be treated as that woman who will likely only see her grandchildren from afar and will spend her Twilight years an old folks home completely abandoned and ignored! I swear these people always want their little taste of heaven but they never seem to understand the term "a taste of Heaven... For a lifetime in HELL!" I especially was thinking of that when she was talking about how she was on cloud nine when she was cheating that no matter what good he did once she crossed the line it was never good enough and she was in the mindset of it was too late for him to change anything and only made her mad because he was making her feel bad for her poor choices! Cheaters are only sorry when they have to suffer consequences when they get that imaginary they get to ride out into the sunset to a happy life while their EX is Left Behind, a loser forever never recovering and showing just how much of a parasite they were perceived as being because in the mind of the cheater like the first story they're holding them back so they obviously must be parasites! only then does the cheater feel validated.... When that doesn't happen when my favorite couple "cruel-reality" start to show themselves ( similar to what happened to the Egyptians in the story of Moses, where they were happy to see the slaves leave if the plague stopped but quickly changed their minds once it finally dawned on them dad all the hardships like hard labor and whatnot was completely left to them meaning instead of taking it on themselves they decided to risk the wrath of God again by attempting to forcefully return said slaves... People of course also need to remember that it didn't end well for them when Moses parted the Red Sea and once the Jews were safely brought across the Egyptians who stupidly tried to follow them through the sea that they should have acknowledged was open by The God Who Threw those plagues at them had it gone on them just how stupid that was when it was closed with them still in it! I want to point that out because it seems to be similar with this woman just like all cheaters who want their ex back in such a humiliating bad relationship because "they learned their lesson" ) The cruel reality that what left with them was everything that made life easier for the cheater! As she pointed out with the guy she cheated on her husband with she ended things with him because she knew he was a simp and he come back to her but looking at how he didn't come back into the story it makes me wonder if he really did come back But the Sex wasn't as great anymore because you know she's not doing a bad thing anymore she broke up with her husband so she's not cheating on him anymore and that seems to be the fun of cheating that you're doing this to boodang that you shouldn't be doing when you don't have that validation because you know you're free person now, it's no longer fun oh, and then you have to look at the person you were cheating way and the same mindset that was applied to your ex now starts the apply to them why did you get together with someone like this? Where they always this boring. It's funny that it took having to go to a therapist something that should have been done when they were married you know a marriage counselor! And a large Bill to finally realize she shouldn't have listened to people on f****** Reddit! Especially when she also put that she edited her story to make herself look like a complete victim so of course they were going to be you go girl because they thought they were supporting someone who was in a bad relationship not somebody who wanted to be validated I'm sure if they knew she was cheating the trolls and those with common sense would come out and negative Force against her. Sorry for forcing you to see a wall of text but I just entered rant mode when I was thinking about the story and read your comment! Not mad at you just saying in a way that he was probably only staying connected to the kids nothing more eventually the way you said he can't trust her anymore memes he past the point of no return! At that point I see when the person who was thrown away finally stopped crying angry hating themselves believing it was their fault before they finally moved on to anger where it actually deserved the person who threw them away what did they do to deserve the entire treatment they never said like I'm using with this chick for example they never explained their complaints they kept it to themselves till eventually they forgot why they were angry at them they just were angry at them it only dawned on them that they were in the wrong once of course they don't get their ride out into the sunset ending that they believe they would get right after they got divorced! But I think another clue is she didn't have somebody to replace him if all those things that replaced and her kids were successfully convinced that she was the victim in this entire Affair and Daddy was the one in the wrong so they speak their side she would have felt validated for throwing him away but instead as I said the DD couple called cruel reality show the different day not spending time with her kids means that separating them from their father and especially the oldest knowing mommy cheated means their opinion on her is incredibly low buying love doesn't last very long! And the problem with lost is it's not Love Without Love attached to it eventually when it resides you start the wonder why you're around this person anymore maybe the deal with your lost but without love it's empty all Flash no substance! And boy do I love it when cheaters Reach This stage I have no love for traitors or home Wreckers! Which is why I love it when they get the ending they truly deserve

In the first story, it's still a lot to admit that you were horribly wrong and acknowledge all the terrible things that you have done to that poor man. He'll never forget the moment he begged you to stay but decided to break him, though.

Its almost poetic that her jealousy mutated her into a creature that no decent man would want, and yet the thing is her self reflection through therapy she learns that the men are right, we wouldn't cash that check in anymore and this is why marriage is going down because men don't want to risk that level of pain when all it hinges on is the emotions/whims of their partner. Ladies, divorce maybe the quickest solution but it sure as hell isn't the best. Think before you marry Empathise before you divorce

Story #1 OP had a saint of a husband and yet she decided to betray his trust in the worst possible way out of what can only be described selfishness and later sadism. Her husband will never trust her again and might never trust anyone else, and her kids will grow up hating her, and she has only herself to blame. It's good that a therapist was able to get through to her that she was wrong. OP should use this moment of clarity to try and do good towards others, to try and put some good into the world to counteract the great mass of bad she put into it. To start with, OP should just give her ex custody of the kids and pay child-support for them so the ex can try to salvage a childhood for them. Story #2 & Story #3 The OPs in these stories both deserved better and I hope they eventually heal from the suffering their exes inflicted upon them.

the same thing happened to me, but I got the kids within a month of her moving in with some dumb ass, at the court cases she lost and the divorce only cost me 201 shares and she had to paid for the transfer. she married him and he complained in court that he or she would not get any money from me, she complained that I had a new woman in my life to the courts and they said tough and if she complained again she would get a prison term. after 2 years her sometimes looking after the kids dropped off as she was sleeping around, I found out as I has staff working at a remote site and on a visit she tried to pick me (did not know it was me) and other men up, then one chap said that even he had her and she was with a different person 2-3 times a week. the one she ran off with died and she was traced as she was doing a tax fraud. still broke today and her family laugh in her face as it was her fault

This feels a lot like "I didn't miss you until I started missing all the things you used to do for me then I realized I made a 'huge' mistake." To these people, you've fucking earned that, let the poor bastards move on with someone better.

One thing I love about all these stories. The truth, all truth, regardless of what it is, will ALWAYS reveal itself. Take this to heart, if you are a liar, a cheat, if you do misdeeds, are crooked at work or with people. The bill always comes due. You can never hide the truth, you can run from it for a time, but it will always, ALWAYS come to light. Live in truth. Be right with yourself, grow, change and learn to admit your own fault and flaws. Be willing to always accept that in a fight or argument, you might be the one who is wrong.
