I have gone through my worst phases of life with my husband and he has always been a rock support for me. Our marriage had rough patches as well. I got pregnant at young age so i had never experienced life of teenagers. Early in our marriage, i cheated twice on my husband. One of the affair was with my ex for about a year and a half (PA and EA) and another was EA with a random guy online(also for about a year). We married at young age so i made some really terrible choice which i regret to this day. He forgave me for the affair but made me sign agreement for distribution of assets in case of divorce in future. I agreed and understood why he had to do that.
Story 1:
Just discovered a 3 year affair of my husband. Cannot handle the pain and having s--cidal thoughts. Need advice.
Story 2:
I caught her today.
Story 3:
It feels like we're just going in circles

It was, off course, terrible decision by her BUT, he should have said precisely what he can and can not forgive. In that situation I think I would have said it to my husband so he knows that he is going to be left alone. I would not cheat in return, at that point its just an excuse,not a reason.

Maybe she learns a lesson. Don't cheat on the next guy. I can't imagine ever just forgetting my SOs infidelity. Many people "work through it" because of limited other options, children, money, change in lifestyle or are so mentally malleable they brainwash themselves into thinking they are ok with it. Or just eat that sh!t sandwich every day and pretend it's a delicacy. Trust and intimacy can never really be the same. If someone has shown you what they are willing and capable of doing to you....believe them.

@Zodariou s I disagree. He is incredibly brave and selfless because he stayed for the kid. He cares for his children well being, to make sure their childhood is as stable as possible so that they will grow up with as minimum damage as possible. The moment they go to college is the perfect time for him to leave. Children are priority, I wished my parents would have stayed together for me so that I don't have to grow up missing the other all the time. This man is a good father who puts them first. Good for him for finding a new woman. The perfect revenge.

All I have to say is the husband didn't forgive you for the cheating, he stayed for the kids. Your oldest is 19 and the other is 17. He kept the relationship going long enough for the kids to be ok but you lost your husband 14 years ago when you cheated. He had already moved on mentally. Am I saying what he did was right non necessarily, but am I saying that it is karma for the emotions you have put him through the last 14 years while you got to live care free? Absolutely

@pissedpookie i agree the husband's only mistake was taking it too sexting and telling the other girl he was going to marry her after the kids left ( which to be fair if she was helping the husband through his emotions thats probably not a lie) he should've gone to therapy and other close friends to last it out until the kids no.longer needed him. I will give him credit for not escalating it to physical cheating which shows he has a much wider moral compass than his wife

@Green Monster Can wow, not subtle at all. It is true that for many humans s-x is just an act and they can do it with anybody, but there are many humans who view s-x as an intimate act you don't do with just anyone. Same with relationships, there are people who don't see being with one person as their thing and there are people who don't see being with multiple persons as their thing.

@kikidestiny3882
@kikidestiny3882 3 жыл бұрын
@Green Monster Can If that's your boundary and you don't care at all, that's fine. However, you'll find that most people care about this very thing. Sure, not everything in a relationship is about Sex. But it is about balance, vulnerability and respect. If you find a partner with the same values as you about this matter, then yes you're not doing anything wrong. But like I said, the majority of the population sees intimate acts as something very special, something that is reserved for their partner and partner only. If we shared these acts with everybody they would lose their value. Plus, there is a lot of vulnerability and trust that comes with sex and other intimate acts. And there is a reason why the psychology world sees cheating as a traumatic experience. When you cheat, you lose your partner's trust and they no longer feel special to you. Being in a romantic relationship with someone means you have a special bond. That special bond gives you the opportunity to be open and explore your romantic and sexual sides. Sexuality is intricate and special to people. It means a lot people. Don't question that part. It is human psychology at play. It's not something new. Infidelity has been an issue for people for a very long time. I think you better do some research if you want a "scientific" answer, from a psychologist's perspective.

First person sounds so insuffrably selfabsorbed. Wtf. Yeah, I met the love of my life really early too. I wasn't ready for a serious relationship at all and I wanted to live by myself and be single for a long time when he popped up. Guess what I did? I said "screw it, I will never get this chance again" and we have now been together for a decade. Sometimes I wish I had had those years to be alone and grow by myself but no need to cry over the what ifs. Pretty sure the single life would have been less enjoyable than the years I have spent with him. He makes me laugh, gives great life advice and gives the best hugs. I don't need anything else. I will never understand cheaters who go "we met young and I just wanted to know what's out there". Yeah cool. You really need to appreciate what you have instead of chasing some temporary fix. It really isn't rocket science.

As a man who found my partner at the age of 21, I too have wondered about "what if" on occasion. But it always comes back to this: I found what I wanted with her, and then some. 28 years together (22 married) and counting. Now, looking back and comparing with some of my friends/acquaintances, some of whom took that other path, I can say that we (people in general) meet someone who really "clicks" and is well matched with us maybe once every 10 years, if we're lucky. That's if we're clean. If we get a permanent STD, children, any permanent life-altering event - that rate can only get worse, not better. Life, unfortunately, isn't like a video game where you can "save game" at a certain point and go back to it if things don't go well - we have to live with the choices we make, and choose our future accordingly. If you're in a loving relationship, treasure what you have, and work to keep it. Whether it's the body's lust that may make it seem like the "grass is greener on the other side" (it's a fleeting mirage), or some "connection" with someone**, is blowing up what you currently have worth a "what if"?. Let it pass. Having the confidence to let it pass requires knowing what you have - take inventory of that, know where you stand, and you'll be fine. **Maybe it's a past life lover/"soulmate" for all you know, if you believe such things - doesn't matter, _this_ life is what matters; they'll be there next life, you're NOT "missing out." Bottom line: some choices in life are permanent. If you leave your current partner, you can never come back to what you had with them. Choose wisely.

@@TechnoMageB5 Wise words! And congrats on so many years together with your wonderful wife! That's so awesome! I totally agree. My boyfriend and I met when I was 20 and he 19 and we just knew. It took at bit of time for my dense head to catch on that what I felt for him was romantic because it was so beyond anything I had ever experienced. It wasn't the usual butterflies and pink clouds. It was as if my soul clicked into place and when I met him I felt like time didn't exist. No before, no after, just this intense feeling of "okay, this guy is made from the same atoms you are and you've been floating in space for millennia to be reconnected, bro. Don't fuck it up" And like you said, when you look at other people your age who took different paths it feels so strange. I was once talking to a bunch of 30 year olds (we were all the same age) and the discussion went on relationships. I started joking about the 7 year crisis and how silly it is and blah di blah and they all just look at me and go: what you've had a relationship that lasted 7 years??? Me: uhm... we've actually been together for like 10 years hehe. How long have you guys' relationships lasted? Not one of them had been in a relationship longer than 4 years. That was so trippy to me. Most of my friends are in long term relationships. All of them found their ONE when they were in their teens or early twenties so I had just gotten used to people being in longterm relationships. It really made me appreciate so much more that I had the privilege to grow into adulthood with my boyfriend and share all the ups and downs in life with him, because imagine reaching the age of 30 and still being single?! Not judging. Things can happen that prevent you from finding your one but oh my god. There's so much inner peace and comfort and bliss you miss out on and I could just see it in all those people's faces that wished they were me. Seriously, unless the relationship is unhealthy, I implore anyone to stick with it, even on the boring days where passion is minimal because you're both tired from work or something like that. The best part of a long term relationship is how you get to fall in love with the same person over and over again and you know you won't be disappointed or have unrealistic expectations because you already know their good, bad and ugly sides and you have accepted it all and still love them.

Sadly, a lot of decent guys are usually picked up by these types of women for the comfort and stability they bring to the home...and because they tend to give their wives the benefit of the doubt because of their genuine love for her. Same goes for decent women and cheating men. Put a decent man and a decent woman (or decent people of the same sex) together, and you have a lifetime marriage, put them with a less-than-decent person and you have the perfect recipe for cheating.

Nah I think he did the smart thing here. If he had gotten a divorce he would have lost half of every fucking thing he owns AND his kids. With this arrangement he got to raise his kids like a normal dad, keep everything he owns because he convinced her to sign the contract AFTER she cheated,, and gets to make her understand a fraction of the pain he felt. Normally I wouldn't condone this because kids suffer from living in a home with parents who hate each other but apparently he was so convincing this chick HERSELF believed he loved her. Frankly I think he handled this masterfully and she kinda just got what she deserved. Objectively what he did was wrong but honestly I feel like this was the best possible outcome for him and the eggs he broke to get it are justified because the worse thing he did to her was what she had already done to him.

They eventually use it as a justification for bad behavior and the sad truth is that those are the people the cheater turned them into. Cheaters or those planning to cheat, please just leave the victim alone, your selfish desire to reconcile is nothing but a noose on both your necks for them to hang themselves. If you some how ruin your life by this mistake at least have the human decency to leave them alone. Also, past mistake? No. Using salt instead of sugar for coffee is a mistake. Cheating is not a mistake, its a series of wrong choices until you commit the act. Lying, sneaking, deceiving for months if not years at a time, intentionally hurting one's SO for your own selfish desires. Your cheating wasn't a mistake, forgiving YOU was a mistake.

The fact that she tried to justify her betrayal and cheating is beyond me! I missed the teenage life she says! what the hell?!!! You just got what you deserved! You cheated at your peak, when a man wants you the most, and you are going to be alone when you most need it!

Story 1: I love how her excuses were she was young when she got pregnant and didn't get to experience the life of a teenager even though she was 20 when she got pregnant and she was young when they married so she made terrible choices. Her husband was also young when these things happened but he didn't cheat. These are dumb excuses for her cheating.

Every once of pain that the woman in the first one was earned, she needs to just suck it up and learn that's exactly what he went through and still likely goes through, cheaters forfeit any form of pity from me, relationships are built completely on trust, and when you betray that, you don't just ruin their trust in you, but in anyone they try to build a life with in the future.

Did you embarrass this man twice? This man has no pride left, so I can't even blame him. He's been finished. She legit gave him PTSD. I don't know how she could expect for the man to trust her again, let alone love her. There are things men come back from, picking the wrong mother for their children is not one of them.
