7:31 As a SoCal resident, to be completely honest, changing it from sunset to daytime really helps it capture LA better. Idk why, but it feels so much better in the daytime. (maybe I'm not into sunsets in general, but I like the daytime so much more). I think the music is great too and fits really well, and it is one of my favorite songs of the wave. Also 8:47 the Shy Guys do sing, it took me a while to notice but they definitely do. Not that that saves one of the least interesting tracks in the game, everybody talks about the lack of sunset but for me the worst part is comparing this version's minimap with the GBA version. (The shortcut where you go on the tiny strip between the mud and offroad is cool though.) Other than that, great video and I agree with a lot of your points. Squeaky Clean Sprint is so good and underrated, the only part that I am not into is the section where you take a bath which feels kinda slow but other than that its perfect. Moonview Highway is my favorite in the wave, mostly because of the music and nostalgia.

I wanna see Captain Falcon just to laugh at the fact that there hasn’t been a single F-Zero game in like 20 years.

Woohoo Vancouver Velocity! Fun fact: each of the landmarks have an hour distance between them. The olympic torch you start through is quite a bit smaller irl and you can't drive under it. (It's over a fountain) The suspension bridge is nice, it's shockingly a footbridge and doesn't flip upside-down. There's some rotating restaurant tower nobody knows the name of that is part of the skyline I guess you can see while gliding. There's the steamclock landmark that is in the city, pretty accurate place too. Lap 2 you go into Stanley park which is completely unrecognizable. A library and then the Mario arena. Coolest part I found is There's an iconic building called science world that you can only see looking backwards exiting the arena. (Like a giant metal polygonal ball) Lap 3 is some tunnel, that does not feel remarkable but well it is in the city? Then pretty sure it's the mario arena again and back through gastown for the steamclock (these 2 spots have about 5 minutes between them irl)

As someone who lives in Vancouver Canada, they did a great job with condensing the landmarks of the North and Downtown districts of the city, and from the top of my head, I recognized the Vancouver Convention Centre, Rogers Arena, the Olympic cauldron, the Vancouver Public Library, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Science World... Even the starting banner is notably based on the iconic Gastown steam clock, and they even made a reference to the Lost Lagoon, which I wasn't expecting.The only thing they got wrong is that Vancouver is a coastal city, and it's one of those cities that gets hammered with rain for 70% of the year. The only time when it does snow is when we get a big ol' gust of Alaskan air that drops the temperature down enough where it can snow decently for a month or two during winter. So... Yeah!

you got sunset wilds all wrong bro. If you go NEAR the cut dancing shy guys they do make the Wææeehí-Woow sounds, and although the mining shy guys are in different tracks, they work completely different and the ones in Shy guy falls and Warios gold mine are visual instead of bashing the adorable and oversized explorer shy guys, some REAL criticisms that i would give the track are: - track feels way too small and should be scaled up by like 2% - the mud is STUPID, WHY IS IT NOT SLIPPERY ROAD (and of course no sunset)

Man it’s getting more and more noticeable that these course aren’t the by the same team who made the original 48 on Wii U. From the low poly and poorly designed backgrounds, (looking at you, city tracks with those 2 fps extras), constant camera issues and the many blind turns they give you. I would say this is an issue because of the Tour tracks, but even in the console retro tracks like Koopa Cape, the camera is wonky as fuck in some areas. We need that 2014-2015 team back 💔
