This is horrible! Horse being chased by helicopters running away, have been known to break there legs and naturally die, there is more wild horses being heald in adoption agencies and ranches for horses, than there is in the wild, and it is just a disgrace. These horses deserve to live a happy life, on THEIR territory without people trying to wrangle them for the wellbeing and sake of livestock to graze.

@@ning_dungieBro they eat all the grass, what little there is, because there’s no predators. Release a few bears or wolves in the area and you can have horses, sure, but then you run the risk of those same predators hunting domestic horses and cattle.

3:15 wants the "best" (the agency wants the "best" .... keeping horses in concentration camps tortured deprived of freedom and abused-traumatized with helicopters etc. wtf !?). it's their land too, and not only the land of human animals (pieceashits parts of humanity) simply taken for building and breeding sufferings in concentration camps infernos of ranchers forcefully breeding "cows" being similar sentients as horses or zebraz or elephants dogs etc.

I do believe that the process is brutal and separating mares from their foals is extremely damaging to the horses and I also don't support slaughtering them, but even if you don't like this method we still have to do something about the population of mustangs. Horses are basically an invasive species and have almost no natural predators, so their population will grow and grow. When the population of horses continues to expand they will graze until their is nothing left and this will disrupt the ecosystem. The horses will starve, then the deers and other herbivores, and then the predators like wolves. Of course this would not be easy, but I believe that mustangs should be rounded up in the most humane way, given proper living conditions, not separated from their foals, and people who are up for the challenge should adopt them and tame them. You may think that it is better for them to be in the wild but horses have been domesticated for thousands of years and with the right effort and love these beautiful horses could become great companions and live a happy life. I have noticed a few people mentioning just moving the to Texas and of course some herds could live well over there but what will we do when they start to overpopulate there? I love horses with my heart and soul and have cried because of my love for them but we must think logically about how they can affect other creatures because I'm sure a lot of you horse lovers also love other animals and we also need to protect them.

@Anon Ymous instead of rounding all of them up they should instead have population control like rounding up herds and only keep the stallions and letting the rest go and that might not be affective but the at least won't be killing and keeping them in small pens.
@DoubleDogDare54
@DoubleDogDare54 4 жыл бұрын
@@isabellamartucci2329 You are correct that it wouldn't be effective because one stallion can breed dozens of mares. Plus, those mares you want to turn loose again would probably be knocked up and would have foals the following spring, after which they would get bred by the stallions that weren't caught. So your bright idea solves nothing. And what are they going to do with those testosterone-poisoned studs in this perfect world of yours? Shoot them?

@Anon YmousThe US created a law in 1971 in which they gave our wild horses the WILD horse term and said they are not to be called feral but be always considered what they are... Wild. ... Feral only fits for a few generations or those specie that never successfully return to wild. they were successful and some have always been wild. ... Horses used to dominate the US landscape for millions of years until the Siberian Bison migrated to our more mild climates 120,000 years ago and slowly overpopulated, thus pushing horses into more separated, warmer and more remote areas. By the time Cortez came he wrote he saw herds in the ten thousands, as far as the eye could see. By the 1800's pioneers said they saw bison in the millions (est. 60M. ) Our horse story has been slow to be recognized but is very rich and interesting. Way more complex than just a few dozen that came with the Spaniards. == in the 1400 Spanish ships could only carry 16 horses at a time. Ottoman ships 50 at the most. So how could Cortez see so many by the early 1500's if only a few were brought over. Even, 1500 Ottoman history talks of the Rare new world, strong, smart horse they would capture and gift the Sultan.

The Onaqui horses are not the only horses here in Utah , look into the welfare of other herds through this state and others . I love the wild horses and believe there is always two sides to a story some times even more sides.

Why not every animal while you're at it? Just because a subject it being looked at doesn't mean it takes away from others. There will always be a 'well what about this problem though' argument, but all that does is give people an excuse to ignore the issue in front of them right now. Its called a red herring.

The horses are NOT wild. They are feral. MEANING, they were once domesticated and turned out. Yes they've lived out on the open land for a long time and adapted but they are indeed NOT wild. Leaving them alone would cause the land to be demolished because they'd eat EVERYTHING. So you've got one of two options here. Let the BLM do their thing, or there will have to be a hunting season for the horses just as we have for deer or other creatures that are over populated. I'd rather there not be the option 2. I'm thankful for the BLM and what they do. If you really want to help the horses, get educated on horses in general and specially on how to handle a Mustang. Adopt one, care, love them until the day they die of being old. That's how you help them. Stop saying "leave them alone" and crap like that. If we do that, they will die a slow death of starvation and become more aggressive for resources.

This is ridiculous... no different than any other animal, these numbers are nothing compared to the number of wild deer, elk, bear, moose or any other game hunted in the U.S. all of those animal population would be out of control if we didnt hunt but these people care if we control our mustang population. Let alone the fortune we are paying in taxes to feed and board the mustangs. All these animal rights activists are clueless about how out of control the wild animal population would get if we didn't eliminate some of them, until they start complaining about how many they are hitting with their cars or how they are destroying property!

Hi, researcher here! This video is not what it is said to be. First off, the BLM actually rounds up the horses for a reason. See, they can very easily become overpopulated and imagine how horrible it would be to find all the dead bodies of starved horses who couldn't find food! The BLM helps by darting the horses (not to kill or injure them of course, just to make them unfertile so they can't reproducemonitor

That's just major bull. BLM needs to limit how many cattle and sheep are allowed to graze. Matter of fact, the ranchers who pay very very little here, can reduce their herds or graze them somewhere else. There needs to be equilibrium between the amount of horses, cattle and sheep on these lands. Americans don't eat horsemeat, yet our government is now selling them for slaughter.

Such bias in this video. The land looks huge, but its not. Its a desert with very limited food and water. It can only hold/sustain like 20,000 horses. There is over 100,000 horses on the property and they double every yr. Of course we want to keep them all. But there is not enough land to keep them all. Sterile injections isnt a 1 time thing. The horses need multiple doses every yr. And theres not a guarantee that it will even work. I dont support in the killing of horses, but i support some cities being torn down and some people(white people included) being shipped back to their country to create more horse habbitat.

It's a very simple solution there are acres upon Acres upon Acres open land in Texas. Simply all the horses down there or hell due an amazing giant trail ride and run those horses to Texas

n my opinion, don't do extermination, there are still many who want to own, raise horses but not enough money ..it's more just to make it a business until people who are less able to become jobs from the booming population of wild kids ... thanks
