While doing "The Notch" also known as the portage from Murray Lake into Nellie Lake in Killarney Provincial Park, we run into a momma bear with her two cubs! Enjoy the commentary from my younger siblings lol.

Thank you! We did have bear spray although 99% of the time when people use bear spray they get it in their own eyes/face rather than the bear. Plus I was 15 and wouldn’t have felt confident enough to use it. That being said, if a bear doesn’t run away after an air horn than I doubt bear spray would be much of a deterrent either. Thanks for watching :)

'I would have pooed my pants.' Perhaps she'll get the chance to either prove or disprove that some day. Great adventure - we don't have bears here in England apart from the bear like people you can meet. Ha ha! Well, good portage in the end and beautiful lake. All the best. Mark

haha yeah that was me with the GoPro on my head, and to this day I'm still not a fan of bears. Although that doesn't keep me from getting out at all! Thanks for watching :)

@@WildCanoes bear came on site (Kakakise site 7) while we were pumping water from canoe, wouldn't leave when we returned, made tons of noise with whistles and banging paddles on trees ect. stubborn old boy refused to leave, just ran from tree to tree around the site. We are experienced back country campers so its not like we left food lying around (food barrel was hung properly from tree ect) he just felt like being a nuisance bear looking for easy meal i guess. He shredded vestibule on our tent, hauled out a backpack and destroyed everything in backpack, gps, wallet, punctured airhorn cannisters (never touched bear spray can tho...lol) articles from backpack scattered all over site, luckily my wife found flare/bearbanger kit on ground while i was trying to coax bear to leave the site, loaded flare and launched it at him, it was enough to spook him and he jumped into lake and swam away. Duct taped tent together and gathered all of the stuff from backpack that was scattered around, didn't sleep to well that night lol, Still had 3 nights of trip to go, made for a more cautious remainder of trip but all was fine. Reported everything to warden at George Lake on the way out with all the details, he seemed to think that the bear was a George Lake car camping bear and was used to people and that's probably why not scared. We've done alot of backcountry camping, and that has been our only bear incident and really don't ever want to have another one...LOL.

Wow! Yeah, sounds like a campground bear! Thats crazy though, yeah I don't think I'd be sleeping too well that night either! Atleast you guys did everything right though and are still getting out there! :)

@@dawgpound23, wow that I'd a scary bear story! 8m surprised the bear still got close/damaged your tent and backpack if you had a food barrel hung up a tree. I always thought food barrels travel separate from backpacks therefore not transferring any scent over to back back and items packed inside. I understand you were too far to pack up right there and then and find another dite/cut ttip short, but wow I'd be feeling scared enough in that situation to book it out if there asap.
