How well does the Wyze Cam do outdoors in dust storms and the summer heat? Our Wyze Cam v2 was outside in some extreme weather and we'll show you how it held up. We also put an outdoor enclosure on it and poured water all over to see how well it can do in the rain.
Using multiple Wyze Cams outside might require daisy chaining. We'll show you how to do that with a 25-foot power cord.

One trick electricians use is you need to put a small loop of the usb cord hanging lower than the plug. That way the cord doesn't act as a guide funneling the water into the usb port. It will make a huge difference.

Still doesn't make sense when there are wireless waterproofed solutions that are designed for temperature extremes, like the XT2. Use the Blink stuff for outdoors, then the Wyze for indoors. Or, if you don't need the IR, use a Wyze Pan indoors mounted upside down to the top of a window near the glass. YOu can have it facing outside, protected from theft and the elements, but also able to spin around and see indoors if needed to check on pets or whatever.

Wyze did a really good job on scamming people. a camera that only works through wifi and you cant watch it through pc or anything just you phone. so you download the app, you setup the camera, you test it while connected to wifi and works fine. now you go out and try to watch the feed only on cellular data haha good luck seeing anything. so what's the point if you cant see the live feed while you out and want to check the camera? I bought 12 cameras in a hope that I can see everything around my house. spend hours on setting up the cams and now the only place I can watch my home is while Im home and connected to home wifi!!! you cant tell me there's something wrong with my phone or the operator, I got 4g LTE on Samsung S9+ and tried the cams on 5 more other phones from my family. none of them worked. 100s of complains send to wyze and not even 1 respond!!! scam scam scam dont advertise scammers

Most cheep cams something or things will not work right or not at all. Pitcher and sound is great for the price. I love all the things you can do from your phone. Good stuff and an excellent first step. It would be helpful if Wyze published something more definitive regarding why they don't recommend using these outdoors. Maybe it is extreme temperatures (electronics rated at 0-70 deg C), perhaps condensation and frost in extreme cold, or maybe the lens can't survive UV exposure over many months. The comments I have read indicate it will survive over short periods to any of these extremes but probably will succumb over years of use. What do you expect for $25?

I have had a total of 5 wyze cams mounted outdoors. I have them in outdoor cases that were purchased from Amazon, and they are mounted under the soffit/eve. I live in central Florida, so plenty of rain and so far, they are functioning perfectly. Also, if you do not have access to a power outlet, but do happen to have 120V running to the area that you want to mount it, you can create your own power supplies using a Mean Well APV-16-5, which are also rated for outdoor use. Just use the USB cable that came with the camera, cut it and splice it into the output of the APV. It is polarity sensative, so pay attention to polarity when doing the connection. I used waterproof, heatshrink/solder butt connectors and it is working perfectly so far. I was able to tap into the power feeding my flood lights, which I found to be a lot easier than trying to run cables through the attic.

Depends where you live. In northern Az they have all the seasons, so like Flagstaff last winter got like 50 inches of snow in a 3 day period. Phx I dont think has ever been 20 degrees. In the "winter" it will get to freezing temps at night, but not for very long. We're talking like high 20s, low 30s.

The motion sensor and door sensor work pretty good. I like that the motion sensor can basically be paired with wyze cam of your choosing. I have the motion sensor in the master bedroom instead of a cam. Then I have the cam across the hall pointing toward the master so if someone goes into the room and the wyze cam didn't see it because the person moved quickly the the motion sensor will detect someone in the room and the cam will begin recording and will see them on the way out.

I bought them for my store. I have bought other cheap shit. But nothing compares to this. I'm real happy with them. They're just not waterproof that's all that's missing. But its so worth the mmonies so cheap. Its crazy. I have nothing but really good quality like a 1000 dollar security system. I would highly recommend them to anyone. There's so many things to do with them. It does everything it states and does it well. One thing to. Its easy as he'll to use. I'm us3 to having to do IP config for my cams and this one is just hook it up and go. Its so easy. I love them.

Why would they need to be waterproof? They're indoor cameras. If that's what you need, buy what you need instead of cheaping out and then saying well....they need this feature too. No they dont. They're for indoors. Why would they need to be waterproof? Oh. You wanted OUTDOOR cameras. That's not this. These are indoor cams. If you need outdoor cams that, are waterproof, then buy them and quit being cheap.
