Wind Deflector template to eliminate Helmet buffeting for 1st Gen V-Strom

Hi all, how are you?
As many viewers have asked me for the templates and measurements for these wind deflectors, i decided to make a dedicated video.
All the information is on this video, so you can make your own deflectors if you so wish.
If you would prefere me to send you an email with a real size copy of the template you see on the video, so you can just hand it over to whom ever will produce these for you, i will also be happy to do so for a symbolic fee of 5 euros, that will of course help me buy new gear to keep making videos for the channel :)
The print will be A4 paper size, and all the shop will have to do, is trace the template on a sheet of acrylic and cut them for you.
My deflectors are 2.5mm polycarbonate sheet. But use what you prefer.

I bought these templates off of John after having previously tried other alternatives to eliminate the buffeting . I must admit that I was slightly dubious at first when the time came to drill a couple of holes in my nice v-strom! But the anxiety was worth it because now I can cruise along at 70mph with 0 buffeting issues. I have finally found the answer!!! Fantastic, thanks again!!

Adventure bikes if taken offroad are prone to drop, if the bike tips over, the windshield is going to get it first then the crash bars.

Hello John, good video on the mods. I also have an old 2002 Dl1000 and wouldn't change it for the world. Have done some of the mods you have and most interested in the leg deflectors. I live in the uk. Can you give me details of how to get the template and make payment. I also changed the handlebar wind deflectors obtained from Ebay for about £10, wrap around and really good. I agree the Vstrom dl1000 is bulletproof, never stops doing whatever you ask it to do.Thank you.

Hi there 👋 Indeed! Great machine 💪 Defletores: You can get them 3 ways: - Watch the video and make your own; - Get the template for 5 euros; - Get a pair sent to you, for 25 euros. Although it seems like you want the second option, i like the enforce that you can use this information for free, or just get a pair sent out, where you only have to drill holes and screw on the bike 👍 EDIT: Just remembered you're in the UK... customs may try to charge if i send them out...

Hi John I have just purchased my 1st Vstrom 2010 model this could be the answer to my problem. Do you still make the defectors? and how do do I go about purchasing them from you? Many thanks Steve.

Hi. Yes i have a few pairs, but they are so easy to make, and all measurements are on the video. I can also send the real size template by email for a small fee of 5 euros, just to help me out with my video gear and what not :), then you can just give the template to an acrylic store, and they will make them for you 🙂. If you still prefere i send you a pair, I'll also be happy to. 25 euros plus post. Are you in europe or the states? These only fit the 1st gen models with givi crash bars 👍650 or 1000cc models.

@@viltrobertalin but is your bike like the one on the video, or the next generation? If it's like the one in the video, but 650, it will fit if you have givi crash bars. If it's next generation, unfortunately it will not fit my friend...

Hi John. Thanks so much for making this video. I've been experiencing heavy buffeting on my v-strom 650 and purchased a givi airflow to no avail and have just found out about the tank being a likely.contribition to the problem.
