My God....brand new Tiger 660, all 3 sounds exactly the same...Clutch noise and engine ticking noise very,very annoying.It makes me think I wasted my money. Went to the dealer 3 times- always the same, 3 cylinder, all good...After first service 1000km and engine was almost dry,no oil!!!Wtf.... Topped up the oil and than the clutch noise came as well...makes me hate riding,brand new bike

I bought a new 1000 vstrom back in 2008. I haven't done a thing to it. But, it would be nice to have a better seat.

I guess it depends very much on your situation, after a firmware update mine is a rock solid 200Mb/s... just a side note, Megabytes is a measure of file size, Megabits is a measure of transfer speed ;)

Adventure bikes if taken offroad are prone to drop, if the bike tips over, the windshield is going to get it first then the crash bars.

I love this review, hearing great personal perspectives. People who criticise forget it’s not about them. Although their opinions are worth something too. What did you end up with, I can’t see your final decision on your channel.

I had a Moto Guzzi 850 T3 California in the early eighties. It had the big standard wind screen without fairing and without spoilers. It worked very well. Nice silent long trips across Europe without earplugs!
@fuglbird
@fuglbird 11 күн бұрын
As far as I understood from your observations the wind noise increased when you mounted the wind screen. That means that the airflow is not nice and linear around your helmet anymore but turbulent. At higher speeds a turbulent airflow can make your helmet vibrate. Some will prefer the naked bike keeping their helmet in a clean airflow. New riders should find their advice elsewhere.

Huh....As millions of other riders I use kerosene for cleaning. Quick and thorough. Then lube with BMW;s Motorand spray lube to seep into all the chain parts including the o rings. Light and effective it remains on the links for a long period. One can lasts or about 25 or 30 lubes. Best on market.

I owned a Trident for a while and now own a Livewire One. I'm looking for a screen that aesthetic and above all effective at motorway speeds. I like the look of your screen and will see if I can fit it on my bike. cheers

adv touring is great; with good seating; but handling in the city, heavy traffic goes to the 660 sport.

I have the same 2003 model with 120.000 km. I don't know why almost all users praise this engine because it's not that great. Clutch basket problems, TP sensor, stator and magnet problems. Thank goodness mine had all this fixed before I bought it. It's true that I did 40.000 km with it in 3 years and I didn't have any problems, but still. In particular, problems with the basket and the clutch have been lingering at Suzuki since 1997 in the SV, TL, DL 1000 models, until 2020.

Stumble upon to your channel when searching any Tracer 7 reference for my research of future R25 mod into sport touring one, good comparation too with the latest Tracer 9 comparison. But I found the regularity of publishing the video on this channel are lacking, so reserved for subscribe button for now.

Great review, thanks for this. I’ve watched it a few times now (as well as a bunch of your other reviews). I’m trying to pick my next bike for long distance (100klm each way) commuting, daily rider and occasional touring/camping. Currently riding a Triumph Tiger Sport 1050, which is awesome on open windy roads, but bit of a beast for slow speed manoeuvring. I used to have a 660z Tenere, which I loved and regretted selling, but wasn’t right for the long commutes. The size/power did suit me fine for general use though. The tracer 7 is very much at the forefront as a replacement for me, for much the same reasons as you’ve pointed out. Other options seem to be NC750x (not sold in Australia anymore 😢), V-Strom 650XT, V-Strom 800 RX (jump up in price but more extras including ride by wire, so cruise control possible) and Transalp 750 (tubed tyres 👎) So it s looking like it’s neck and neck between the Trancer 7 and the 650XT for me, which leads to my question: Do you have any opinions regarding the new V-Strom 650XT considering my proposed uses, and in particular how it would compare with the Tracer in this regard?

I was a tracer 900 owner between 2015-2019. I agree with your comments. it has sports motorbike performance and suspensions, but it was tiring me in the city and therefore I sold it, I regretted selling it a year later and now I am thinking of buying it again. I am not a traveller, I usually use it on asphalt roads in the city, but our roads may be the worst roads in the world, all roads are full of bumps and potholes. As someone who is over 40 years old and has a herniated disc, it is important for me that the suspensions and saddle are soft. I looked at the GS1200, but it is too expensive and too big for urban use with traffic. You do not recommend the Tracer 9 for a few reasons that I find justified. I am looking for a motorcycle with a soft saddle and suspension, with bags large enough to put 2 helmets and a motor jacket inside. sometimes I can reach speeds of 250 km on intercity roads, in this case I don't want to be beaten by the wind. for tracer 9 that was very easy to go speed, no vibration but I was being beaten by the wind. I have travelled long distances with Hayabusa and frankly I liked it very much. but the sitting position is no longer very suitable for me. my knee locks after a few hours of riding. so what is your recommendation?

The ultimate way to eliminate buffeting on any motorcycle is to get rid of the windshield. A short windscreen keeping wind away from the chest but leaving the head in clear air is absolutely the best solution. Unless you have to commute in all weather conditions all year long. Additional benefit is the cooling effect. BTW all decent helmets are developed aerodynamicly with the assumption that no weird windshield disturbs the windblow.
@fuglbird
@fuglbird 10 күн бұрын
I have tried a few of these modern "aerodynamic" helmets. All of them are noisier than my old AGV from 1978. I suppose they focus too much on ventilation. I'll try some rounded retro helmets to hear if they are better.

A couple of points. Firstly oil tends to fling, that's why you had to clean your wheel. Secondly, you don't just lube the rollers of the chain. You should also lube the o rings so the rubber does not dry out.

Hey man. It breaks my heart to say this, but i had to choose between putting food on the table or playing around with this channel... Each video took me almost a week between filming, narrating and editing, and You-Tube just doesn't pay enough to keep going... I have 4 videos to edit, but between work, family and riding, it's just impossible right now. I'll certainly be back, but i just don't know when... Thanks for your enthusiasm 👍 My wife traded for a CB500X. I still haven't found anything worthy of trading my vStrom for :)

@@John_Neves Well it sucks that's why you had to stop, but better than the dark thoughts I was wondering. You know with motorcycles it's not the safest way to get around. I'm in a similar situation and will have about a 10k budget soon for my first big bike. So I found your channel really informative for a lot of the bikes I was looking at. Got an XSR 125 - got a full license, did on F850 GS, so want something like it... But with more style lol. The 850GS is very fictional, but it got a face only a mother could love lol. Well I hope all goes well in the future.
