100%. Agree with Fred on doing a ride pre-ride T-CLOCS check list. Sounds like again the legendary Honda engine is once again recording it’s own excellent performance history with this newest generation 18+ Gold Wing. Love the two-tone blue on the 22 DCT Tour. Love to see Honda develop lean angle sensing headlights, radar detecting cruise control and blind spot monitor mirrors. Would love to see easily how Fred puts that bike on the Park & Move without too much difficulty. It does require a bit of extra effort. Thank you for another great show Rick and Fred. Ride safe and ride often.

Where I live we usually have about 5 months of winter storage (give or take). For the last couple tanks of fuel I make sure to use ethanol free gas. Then on my last day of riding I do a full service on the bike and add a bit of fuel stabilizer to the tank. I take it for a 20-30 minute ride to get it up to full temperature to make sure any condensation is burned off before parking it on the center stand on a carpet in a heated garage. I top off the tank, plug in my battery tender and put a bike cover over top of the bike. About once a month or so I will rotate the front tire so it is not always sitting on the same spot.

@@WingStuffcom Thanks, pretty much the same as what you had. It sure hurts to park a bike for so long but it comes with living so far north. I am way up in Fort McMurray, AB

I have your maintenance videos for the 2018+ Goldwing. What I can’t find is a video on how to replace the parking brake pads on the DCT version. Is there one out there? Thanks.

I have the 2018 DCT and apart from a failed starter switch which Honda replaced no charge, I am 100% happy with the bike, as a backup I installed my own additional starter button in the rhs cubby hole, it works great

Hi guys and thank you again for all the info on the Wing. I am interested to buy Wing's belly pan kit. My question is, was it tested somehow to verify the thickness and brackets are sufficient for the application? Also, will the hardware withstand vibes as it ages under the block?

Hi Al, thanks for your interest. The belly pan that we offer for the 2018+ Gold Wing (P/N WSGW2018BP) and its hardware has been tested by the engineer and has been found to be more than sufficient for its intended purpose. If you look at our customer reviews for our 2001-2017 GL1800 Bely Pan (P/N WS187416) you'll see our customers have been extremely happy with it. Our belly pan for the new Wing is even thicker (3.2mm) and made from T6061 aluminum for added protection. I hope this helps you with your decision. Ride safe!

I had a 2018 and ordered a Corbin seat, driver backrest and passenger backrest. I recently traded it for a 2022. I called Wingstuff and they said the Corbin was unavailable for the new bike. I told the guy on the phone I had seen a new bike with Corbin and he said no, not available. I called Corbin and they took my order 🤷🏼‍♂️ being a VIP customer I was disappointed to say the least. Thought you might want to have this feedback.

What is up with the reinitialization of the DCT transmission. Really needed? Many DCT riders talk about it as necessary. I've never done it and my 18 Wing with 20K on it shifts beautifully. Am I missing something? Please advise

Hey Tom thanks for your comment. The DCT Clutch Initialization Process is something you may or may not need to do at some point, as the clutch plates wear. A rider may get an indication light on their dash where they normally see the bike mode indicator lights. Dashes or asterisks can appear there, which may be prompting them to perform this. Also, if the motorcycle is shifting oddly, that might be a cue. If a rider has changed oil types and has noticed a difference in the way the transmission shifts, that might be a good reason to give this a shot as well. It sounds like you have not experienced any of this, in which case, there's most likely no need for you to perform this process. Hope this helps...ride safe!

This is like saying the steak place you eat @ is the best but if you never try the other you really don't know, the reinitialization usually will make it smooooother shifting.

I need help please. I have 15.000.and suddenly my display although the back light of tft information screen turns on i can not see the Goldwing logo when i turn on the ignition switch to ON or ACC , i can not see the warning message , i can not see the settings , the main menus..Nothing at all. Also the volume is stuck at a particular level and i can not volume up or down and also i can not switch off the radio or change the source. I believe the problem is at the audio unit which is positioned under the central trunk. The radio is stuck at a particular FM radio (the last one it was selected by me ). Any help will be appreciated..Thanks 🙏

You might try disconnecting the reconnecting the battery cables and looking for a stuck radio or PTT switch.

As Fred suggests, try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes or more and then reconnecting. Also be sure to check all fuses. Hope this helps!

Fred, I got a 2021 Honda Goldwing mill light will not go off I’m on my fourth battery. I put it on the maintainer all the time and now the motor does not run when you hit the start button and everything else works. I don’t know what else to do.

Fault Code Readout is video #3 on my site. Typically a low battery will trigger ISG Fault Codes. Normally, the MIL light will go out after 6 or so start cycles as long as the problem that triggered the fault does not re-occur, so the light may eventually go out on its own. However, it would be very helpful to know the exact codes that are set. You can also reset the codes after reading them out, and then see if it returns. If you aren't comfortable doing this, I'd suggest visiting a Honda dealer and letting them check it out.
