Hi Rick, I enjoyed your WingCast with Anita Algiers this morning. You both spoke huge truths about motorcycle riders, regarding the camaraderie, friendship and the sense of freedom, I love it! I have been riding since 1977 with a 1977 Honda CB750K to now a 2023 DCT Tour!!! Thanks, Loyal.

Always great seeing you Rick. Love your Uncle! Started my GWRRA membership in 84. Maintained that for many years. Took a break and came back until the end. Nice to see Anita bringing things back. A lot of good came out of all those years. Hope a fresh approach will come out of it all. There was so Admin and bureaucracy. Takes fun out of why we ride. Less is more. Now how about about a Customer Appreciation day tied in with these guys or your own. Who wouldn’t love a ride out to Wing Stuff. Miss seeing you in your Wing too. I’ll bet Chris Caliente and his Caliente Riders would do another coast to coast! Any reason to ride. Ride safe and often.

I don't think Anita will be there, but feel free to stop in and meet Mike Vaillancourt (Region G)- or even offer a hand to help out if you're so inclined.

As long as the "club" doesn't turn into a "click". One thing I liked about GWRRA was the fact that you could join and technically be a member of all chapters. An association. One could hop around from one chapter to another and not be strictly associated with a particular "click". To me HD is a "club" where you would have to pay dues to that club and be "sponsored" into their specific chapter. GWRRA was an association. Association = a connection or cooperative link between people or organizations. Club = an organization of people with a common purpose or interest, who meet regularly and take part in shared activities: I've just joined the local golf/squash/tennis club. Visitors must be accompanied by club members. It is important to differentiate between entities that call themselves clubs but are actually also for profit or nonprofit corporations (such as health clubs and Yoga studios and the like), and associations which are more informal organizations that exist for mutual benefit and are not “owned” by third parties making a profit or having control.

In EWMA, you join the Association. You then choose what chapter (or chapters) to associate with (optionally).

Did not find the local chapter welcoming at all and they were far from a riding group. More like a monthly breakfast club and hardly anyone even rode to that. I tried for several months to be part of the group and see if other wanted to ride out even after the monthly breakfast, but no takers. I finally stopped going. They are now associated to Eagle Wings but their website has gone offline. Was far from the club experience I had with the BMW MOA.

Sounds like you're referencing the GWRRA. I didn't care for my GWRRA group either. The Eagle Wings seem to have a different idea of what a motorcycling association should be. I'm looking forward to visiting one of their Chapters when it is created in my area.
