After travelling nearly 6000 miles on the last tour, a small 150 mile winter ride to Wales on the Thunderbird seemed like quick rev of the throttle and I was there!
I took the Thunderbird to Builth Wells and met some friends for a 4x4 weekend in the Welsh hills and valleys. It was an awesome weekend.
I also got myself some heated gloves and felt the benefits of not having to stop and heat my hands up on the engine block! These things are a game changer, I really should have got some earlier.
The Wingman of the Road got a winter test too, that review is coming up in the next video.

Good to hear mate. Longing for the better weather to get more rides in. We've been quite lucky so far though, fairly warm January for riding.

Therapy is an excellent description for biking. You've only got to be back on the bike a short while and the world's a better place.

The weather warmed and the snow melted in Sheridan this week and I got three days of riding in January! Unheard of in Wyoming. We are usually snowed in. The last time we went to Bristol, Pam and I took the train to Cardiff for the day. I definitely want to explore more of Wales. Sheridan has quite a few Land Rovers. Ranching was started in the valley by an English Lord in the 1800s. We even have a huge Polo field with annual competitions. We have a mix of landed gentry and peasants like me living in our little burg. Heated gloves are Ausgezeichnet!😎👍

Love it when the weather thinks about us bikers! Where there are Brits, there will be landrovers. Even though they are pretty unreliable...

Next time I recommend following the River Wye from Chepstow up the Wye valley through Tintern (Where I live) to Monmouth. From there you can head through Hay on Wye or Brecon to Builth Wells stopping at the Baffle Haus cafe on the way. Cracking ride

9:43 You're coming into Abergavenny (which i'm sure you knew) where I grew up. The mountain in front of you that looks somewhat like a volcano is The Sugar Loaf. The one to the left of the screen is the Blorenge. I grew up at the bottom of that one. 10:27 That's what the locals call Magic Mountain. The little hump to the right that is flat on top is called Table Top.

I lived on the west coast of Norway for about 10 years, Wales always reminds me of that landscape. I totally love it and can't get enough of it. A proper tour of Wales would be epic. I might actually do that... Wild camping for a week and some fun trying to pronounce the place names! Stunning place my friend, you're blessed to have grown up there.

@@thebristolthunderbirdYes I consider myself very lucky to be able to go for a quick 2 hour Sunday ride around the Brecon Beacons. People ride from all over to ride here and for me it's on my doorstep

We are so lucky,Bristol has so many great rides/ routes on our door step which ever way you decide to ride. Before you go over the Crickhowell bridge , try the single track road is a nice one to ride and leads you more or less into Brecon. But take a left before Llangynidr and ride up and down the B4560.Great views overlooking the Brecons and Black Mountains. What Brand gloves did you get in the end ? Richard (Honda500cbx Brizzle)

@@thebristolthunderbird think you did. I grew up here so if I see a Welsh word I know the sounds the letters make. If I go to Portugal its the same for me. Same letters but different sounds :-)

RST Paragon 6. They worked really well. I've suffered with bad circulation in my hands for years due to an operation in my early 20's. These were a game changer mate, should have got them years ago. 159 from j&s. Happy winter biking now!
