Topographical maps are available from the US Geological Survey. I got one for my property in Rolla.

If your plumbing is already freezing, I would make that the priority over everything else. Driveway culverts, 4wheeler, etc can wait. Great video. Glad I found your site. Look forward to watching the progress.

That thing was HUGE 😆 I am not proud of all that screaming I did 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Definitely excited for when we can move the big house. We’ve got some work left to finish in there and a lot of projects we need the shop for before we can let it go.

That’s so sweet. We’ve put some serious work in here and I’m hopeful that when we leave for Christmas, it’ll be just how we want it. It’s always nice to show up somewhere knowing you don’t have to jump in and do a lot to get it comfortable 🙌

Why you not using the tree and cutting them up for fire wood 🪵

Because they wouldn’t be seasoned (dry) and likely wouldn’t burn reliably. We’re working on making a rack for split logs this week so we don’t have to buy them in the fall.

Hi Megan! Sent this question on IG too so ignore it if it pops up... Before you guys bought the property, did you pick a few listings in different places to check out? Was buying out of state a relatively easy process? My husband and I are trying to figure out how to scout listings from afar. We've narrowed it down to 2, maybe 3 states, and would like to road trip when I'm on terminal leave to scope out properties. Any advice on how to best tackle this would be greatly appreciated! We love your videos!

Hey!! I’m actually working on our next video now where we’ll go into depth on this. It’s probably the 2nd most asked question we’ve gotten since we started the project. We had only seen the property for about an hour before we were ready to make an offer, and that was after a month or so of looking at it on Zillow ❤️

We want to load up the pups and the RV and travel from each chosen state to see some of the ones we've saved, just hoping to do it the right way before this big, new chapter in our lives. @@Misshaylidanielle when does terminal start? We have a camper and plan on using harvest host in the cool seasons to hop around cheaply. I don’t wanna pay for spots more than 1x a week 😅

@woodysbarndominium I'm splitting it up, one month in February and the next month in July! That way we can also get a feel for how some places are in the winter and summer timeframes. Doing the harvest host idea sounds like a really cool, froogle option! Not going to lie, I had not heard of that before, but the hubs did a year long cross country RV trip solo pre-covid and knows all about that sort of thing. You guys are living such a cool adventure & we truly enjoy watching the parts of it you share with the world!
