The biggest change for me is that they get preset with HE. I'd honestly say, maybe until tier 6, that 90% of BB captains will use AP against DDs, so destroyers can sail around with relative impunity. They're in for a rude awakening with the British BBs.

@@FunandGameswithTerry I ALWAYS start out with HE using my Kongo and especially Fuso. If you get a good accurate broadside on a destroyer using the Fuso's HE, you can delete them in 1 salvo on occasion. I free XP skipped the tier 3 Brit battleship and bought the Orion. But it has painfully slow main gun traverse. Heaven forbid you are forced to fire from the opposite side, cause it could take nearly a minute for your turrets to turn 180°. I ended up using about 7500 free XP to move past the Orion to the Iron Duke(then got rid of the Orion). I haven't played the Iron Duke much yet, but it doesn't seem a lot different than the Orion in capabilities. Another reviewer made it out to be the best thing since sex. So, it's either that I'm just not using it right, or it's not quite that fantastic... I also noticed that the guns aren't all that accurate from range, and their HE can do -0- damage at times! I fired 3 salvos at the rear of an American BB, and most shots missed from roughly 8km, but the few that hit did -0- damage! WTH?? I bought the Budyonny last night, played several AI games to figure it out, and it seems like a more fun, more dangerous ship than the Orion or the Iron Duke IMO.....

Thanks! The premium British BBs are a mixed bag. Agincourt & Nelson, AP is dreadful, HE only. Warspite and Hood, pretty much the opposite, unless I'm firing at DDs. Although that's a pattern we've seen before, where premiums weren't quite matching the tree style (e.g. Alabama) I haven't looked at the muzzle velocity values for the British BBs (even though these stats are theoretical, since they're hidden / might not even matter), but I've tried using AP on the Orion a bit and found the power severely lacking. This might work in our favour when shooting at light cruisers, though - where other ships could overpen, British AP might be just enough. I'll explore that more around tier 5 and 6. Curious to see how a salvo of HE vs AP behaves when hitting something like a Koenigsberg.

It's always tempting to spend money on yet another pixel boat, but one thing I appreciate about this game is that it's not required to do so - you can perfectly well win a match in a free tech tree ship. Of course, some premiums are quite powerful, but I'd generally say it's 95% skill, 5% ship. I'm definitely excited to see the line, if only for the added chance of having some historical action, rather than the "was built, did some escort duty, sold for scraps" line of things.

@Fun and games with Terry , I concur. WoWb is not full blown P2W, I was just caught up with wanting all the shiny new toys. If I come back, I grind the British BB line with a laser focus. I’ll spring for a monthly premium account and permanent camo as my way of supporting the devs. 👍

My rationale for the reload is not to gain an additional salvo overall, but to beat someone else's reload in a pinch. Let's say I'm on low health, that extra second can make the difference between me being able to take them out before they get to sink me. Granted, it's not a huge boost, and turret traverse would be a legit choice as well. I'm really more of a hobby-historian, started studying WW1 & 2 (with some forays into Korea and Vietnam) about 6 years ago whenever I had some time to spare. I don't go into massive depths, or even into uncharted territory, so it's mostly probably an hour or two reading and connecting the dots, plus another looking for public domain material I can use to illustrate things.

Have I done the Arkansas yet? I don't think I have. Always something getting in the way :)

I usually prefer turning the ship around, rather than the turrets. Tends to be quicker.

@@FunandGameswithTerry I also do the same thing but instead of acceleration mod I prefer with steering mods for turn time while traverse speed is for fighting off quick ships like destroyers,

this happens sometimes. You can't carry them all. If I did good in a battle, even if we lost, I still count that as a personal win.

I had that experience in the Nelson, when they still preloaded her with AP. I wouldn't discount AP completely, might still be useful against light cruisers.

I have the Warspite, and she's a bloody good ship. I missed out on the Duke, but I love British BBs, so I'll savour the grind :)

DDs need to be very afraid. And people better learn how to use damage con :)

We'll see if the HE citadels will remain common in higher tiers. A lot of cruisers at low to mid tiers don't have armour to speak of.

Yeah, that looked pretty decent, for tier 4. We'll see how they hold up in higher tiers, compared to the IJNs.
