One very frequently asked question is, "which US cruiser line is better?" The short answer is, of course, "yes". The long answer, well, I'm trying to give here.

I scored citadels on Fusos at close range two times with the Dallas AP. Really loved bullying destroyers in the Dallas. Hopefully the Brooklyn will be as fun as well.

I remember when the US light cruisers were in early access. But only for rent or get them permanently through a crate. In PC version, Baltimore is at teir 8.

I have actually grinded both lines all the way to T8 and I can definitely say I prefer the heavy line a little more than the light. In T6 the Pen is preferred over the Dallas but in T8 I prefer the Cleveland over the Wichita purely because of its dpm and radar and sonar which usually helps me and other BB players avoid torps. If the Wichita got radar it would definitely help my confidence to push into caps when there are still dd's around.

Great vid as always, it is nice to see on how simple yet different the us cruisers play, but I remember once where 1v1 a full health Roma in my Cleveland on the Atlantic map, although it was before the HE fix were your fire chance didn't matter but I must say it was fun as hell setting triple fires one after another

Great video as always Terry, I struggle with both of these lines so will give your advice a try 👍 PS What version of the game are you running? You still have those weird gaps around your screen from 4.4 and there were a couple of non-forced updates that fixed that for me. Now on version 4.4.2

Playing Wichita feels like playing in light cruiser. Wichita is Brooklyn with 8 inch gun and improved armors..

Awesome comparison! Hope you do more of that And try out blk amalfi ☺️ (with master reloader) I prefer the ap cruisers, in this case desmoines , wichita is awesome bow on its mini bb, baltimore with aa setup and cv buddy a good grind Wooster is great ship aswell but the line is meh

It's a shame, you'll be sailing around the map for 4 minutes flat, and if the CV had any sense, he'd have spotted the DD halfway through.

@@FunandGameswithTerry if im the only destroyer I keep the enemy spotted , make the occasional distraction and try to torp or set fire to anyone being innatentive

I got the black Dallas and Altanta so I've decided to get the heavies first . For pretty much the same reason im doing the same with the British cruisers .

It gets better after the Dallas. Brooklyn isn't half bad, and Cleveland can be really fun, and you should be used to the shells by then. The CA line is good as well, especially starting at tier 8.

Dallas is 💩 atlanta no comparison to a cleveland or such cl, atl very fragile 😆 Like the pebble gun sirius, atlanta was meant to be aa ship but got powercrept heavily

The Dallas is rather trash but from the Brooklyn onwards it gets a lot better. Don't shy away from the light cruiser line. You'll be rewarded eventually.

I own both the Cleveland and Wichita, and I think they're both fully upgraded, nonetheless I have played less than 4-5 games in either. They just dont seem to be quite as "easy to play" as the Pensacola(I've also neglected my Adm Hipper & Zara, and I rage-sold Chapayev). As a result I have pretty much no experience with radar or sonar, so I appreciate your comment earlier pointing out that radar doesn't spot torpedoes(because I assumed it did). 🤔 But I'm unclear on another important aspect of radar & sonar. When you engage them, do they only expose enemy ships for YOU to see, or are your teammates also able to see them once they are exposed by your radar/sonar? Thanks.

All spotting information is relayed to your team, so if you see a ship using radar, or torpedoes using sonar, your team will see them as well. That's why the enemy Minsk in the Cleveland game was a bigger threat to me by keeping me spotted, than by virtue of his guns - being visible meant the whole enemy team was opening up on me.

You expose them for everyone with radar/sonar. Same goes for torps and sonar (or at least being close enough to see it)

American CA is not so heavy as British, German and Russian. They are heavy only because of guns on my opinion. I mean Whichita is almost as manoeuvrable as Cleve. So basically choose is between different type of guns and consumables. Not like in case of russian cruisers, in case of them it’s also chose between be deleted in one salvo or in two and of course manoeuvrability of CA is almost BB.

I love my Cleveland. The hardest cruiser I've ever played is the Wichita. Can never seem to do well in Her

So question, you say “lone wolf damage dealers”. Which ships come to mind? Moskva? Hindenburg?

Hindi, definitely. IJN CAs come to mind - they're not very good at things like cap control, DD hunting or air support, but best suited to flanking positions, setting fires and torpedo attacks. The Soviet CAs as well, long-range damage dealers.

So at 22:07 I was the enemy wichita player who killed your lexington: lol I have no idea what happened your team potato'd and I hate cvs so *tunnelllll* I will say I disagree that wichita should be using HE on BBs, especially on something like a North Carolina which wichita's AP can easily penetrate on NC's bow, stern, superstructure and deck, for stuff like German BBs yes HE would be a good call but only if you're lazy to aim for the superstructure/bow/sterns

It depends. If you can reliably target bow/stern, you're likely close enough to score citadels through the deck as well, and I would totally use AP. I meant to say, long range, use HE on BBs and AP on DDs, close range, the other way around.
