Actually this game gameplay is more of a mix between Eternal Sonata and Lightning Returns FFXIII, the way the player phase plays out with a time gauge is very similar to the way player phase play in Eternal Sonata, while the way you attack and block attacks using pretty much every buttons is similar to Lightning Returns, the way you break ennemies by having to exploit specific weaknesses in order to deal more damage is also similar to how Stagger works in Lightning Returns.

you should try Valkyria Profile (DS game, but you can emulate on phone/pc who cares), it is a jrpg with real-time turn based combat where you gotta take into consideration actual Hitbox/wind up duration/precise timing/weapon moveset/weapon reach/knockback distance etc. the thing is you control multiple character at the same time(real time) some of them are ranged some are melee and even every character has their own "wind up time" cuz character with slower weapons will take longer with different knockback distance(dustancing is important, you can juggle enemies in the air by multiple of your characters attacks, shove them too far and it might be outta range/hitbox of one ur character and miss out on dps) and area of hitbox, so learning team combos is fun. some enemies that block you need to hit them simultaneously with multiple of your characters at the same time(again, different characters have different wind up time) there is a ranged character that has low dps, but if you can somehow juggle enemies and somehow shove them right in front of him at point blank then he will do massive damage with his sh0tgun blast equivalent attack. it is tons of fun. and the level/dungeons designs are like metroidvania as well, and is basically an open world. underrated gem
