I think that ideally, it would either be one hatchet or only down at 24+ meters. Anyone who’s gone for the Skilled Huntress knows that hitting a shot at 24+ meters is a lot further than you think (and would make the achievement easier because it requires a down, and it’s kind of frustrating to hit cross maps and have them not count). It would be really interesting to have it to where if you run a belt add-on it only works at a distance, but if run on its own it just gives you one, but no add-on has done something like that yet.

I like the idea of it getting reworked so if you land a hatchet it gets refunded.

I would say infrantry belt shouldn’t work with it, but the add on that adds 1 extra hatchet should work with it, because 1 shot is bad, 2 shots seems reasonable, because after you knock someone down, and someone trying to flashlight save and your in loop, you legit won’t be able to catch them. So the yellow add on that increase hatchet by 1 should work.

Huntress with a single iri head is worse than default Billy. Change my mind. Default Billy has 115% and can M1 you at regular pallets much easier. He has more global map pressure and maneuverability. He has less warning of his approach. He retains the insta-down. Missing his instadown does not punish him nearly as much. He still gets his add on slots.

I feel like the one thing that a 1 axe only text on iri head could also work with, would be if the move speed when holding no hatchets increased to match the 115%. Itd only apply when out of hatchets, and if you miss you can still smack em as an m1 killer. And if you hit, well then you hit. Maybe itd be too strong, idk. But its similar to that nurse addon effect that removes her power temporarily to be an m1 killer.

What if, since Huntress is, well, a Huntress, her second ultra rare allowed her to see all scratch marks and pools of blood within a specific range when holding a Hatchet. Say, 40 meters, the same as her lullaby? Perhaps the range starts at 0 meters and as she holds the Hatchet, the range steadily increases to the max?

I did that add on combo before about six months ago or last year. I was challenging myself to see how hard it could be without the extra 2. Then play huntress differently where most won't play like that. But dam, that was so fun. I had 4K every match.

I remember a post on Reddit recently where someone suggested removing the Iridiscent Heads instadown and replacing it with reloading your hatchets on the spot when you down a survivor using your hatchets. Honestly? I think it's a good idea. Still super strong, let's you snowball the hell out of the survivor team, but not nearly unstoppably busted.

My problem is: how do you have over 200 iridescent hatchets

Thinking about it, I agree with dbd content creators who say that iri needs to have a minimum range for the one shot. I think like if you hit a survivor from 15-20 meters away then you one hit and it only reduces the total number of hatchets by 2.

What if iri. head’s description was about it being abnormally heavy and you can only carry one (without other add-ons) and it lowered the huntress’ speed to 4.2m/s? I feel like that would compensate for the fact that you could have 3 iri. heads with the infantry belt and it would really push the notion that you as a player are required to use the power because it would be impossible to be an m1 at that point.

I don’t know who first came up with the idea (I think it was Scott Jund but dont quote me on that) but I think having it so iri head ONLY applies the exposed effect when it’s from a certain amount of meters (like 20 or 30 or 40 meters idk) would be fair and amazing. This rewards good huntresses. But I think it should also get rid of the reduce by 4 hatchets thing.

I think what makes this still not fair is just the fact you can keep holding it till its almost impossible to miss if youre a halfway decent huntress. I do like the idea of those bankshot hatchets tho if they made it work decently well. Like imagine missing someone and it bounces off the wall behind them and hits them again. Thatd be sick. But if they wanna keep the current mechanic of the iri being a one shot then I think itd be best to just make it where you get one shots at a certain range so itll actually reward high risk shots and maybe letting them have 3 hatchets or something without other add ons. Also make infantry belt an ultra rare

I think Iri head with only one hatchet is pretty balanced for the highest tier of add-ons. I'd argue that most Iri add-ons need to be buffed anyway, so comparing this one to those isn't really fair because the average power level is lower than what the true average should be. However, I think there's a more elegant solution than just overriding the hatchet amount on the Iri head: Create a new add-on tier, something like Entity tier or something. These add-ons would take up both slots upon equipping them, but do something very powerful. Like, say, insta-down a survivor with a hatchet but only allow you to use one hatchet. This allows killer-changing add-ons to be included in the game without the risk of stupidly broken combos forming.

they should make it so u can't stack any other add-on on top of iri head and add like a bit of a nerf like a longer wind up or something. that would be pretty ok in my opinion.the biggest problem with iri head is that new huntresses can 4k against average survivors ..

OhTofu, what about it give huntress a option when reload to either reload one hatch for one shot down or regular normal number hatch? How cool would that been? It would be so much more strategic and more interactive.

Thing with Iri Head is no matter what you have the option of a guaranteed down once per chase, which is HUGE. Sure, if you screw up it punishes you but... it just makes it a stronger M1. I wouldn't feel bad if it was a certain range or some such, but as-is it is definitely strong.

An iri add-on that would be in line with the recent lineup of "pretty lame but still neat" reds would be not losing a hatchet on miss as well as limiting max hatchets, say, to 3. That way you can go for all the gamer shots you could ever want, but snowball potential is still somewhat limited

Using your power and the going "please don't dc" gives me Deathgarden granny vibes... also maybe using some sort of status effect addon may prevent the survivors from dcing, as they'll see you don't have 3 instadowning hatchets

After looking at blight iri one-shot addon, i though that maybe iri head also can be balanced way. Like only your last hatchet can one-shot, so if you use it without belt, nothing changes, but with belt you just have 2 more default hatchets.

I use the locker light up add-on with iri head, that way I know before each throw where to head towards for a refill.
