yes! once you finish/submit a story, you can't edit it ever again. i recently submitted a short story for a school competition, and once I submitted it, I closed out of ALL the docs and I have no intention of re-reading it again because I know I will get the urge to edit it and tweak it again and again. You can literally edit a piece forever! I think what's important is that you get it to a place where you're happy with it, and then find that stopping point for yourself. 💞

LOL yess I find it therapeutic :'))) I know! I really wish short fiction was something I could commit to more regularly but it's tough when the ~book ideas~ distract you 😭

It's always a treat to watch your vlogs-it inspires me to want to write!! As for love triangles, I've found that I really enjoy the ones that are written well like in Legendborn or Hunger Games, especially when the love interest the mc chooses is more of a reflection of their growth and development rather than instalove attraction. Tldr: If you want a love triangle, write one! Every author has the potential to put a new spin on it!☺️

Oof, I totally get that toxic productivity problem, that stuff hounded me for years! I'm glad your friends are able to help you out there in disconnecting for a bit. A passive protagonist is definitely a tricky element. Good luck, I look forward to hearing how that progresses!!

How to make a story solid in less than 10K? As a disclaimer, I don't often follow my own advice here because I too get carried away but ...... pick one scene, maybe two, that matter the most to you. Write that scene first, then make it either the beginning of the piece, or the end. Whatever else supports that scene without going over the limit is what stays.

I know shorts are annoying (social media manager here 😂) but from the KZfaq studio (on a browser) you can download them which means you can repurpose that content for other platforms too if you’re looking for added bang for buck 🎉

Hey Kris! New sub here! Have you seen Netflix's "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" ? Not sure it's available where you live, but the first episode blew me away. (The later episodes were okay IMO) I would recommend it, unless you're steering clear of cyberpunk related media so that it doesn't influence your writing, of course.

I've been enjoying your shorts, but if you're not wanting to make new content for them you could always take a clip from a video and link to the full video in a pinned comment. Save some work, and drive people to your videos.
