In 2020, my school had a fully remote year. I remember this one time where I was literally watching Steve's Smash Bros showcase during math class. In 2021, it was a hybrid year, and I stayed on remote learning. Only in 2022 did the school go back to normal, but everyone still had to wear a mask the whole year.

For the kids who live close to school ,Skipping must be so easy.

I didn't skip school that often but I slept through basically every single class in HS. Our school day had like 7 classes and I swear I would slept through 6,5 of them. Crazy how I didn't fail a single year during my entire school career now that I think about it.

I wasn't allowed to skip school even when my kneecaps dislocated, the only way to travel through all my classes was stairs and the staff guarded the elevators. :(

In Second Grade, My mom was proud of me of how my grades were in school so she called the school and told them I had a cold (which I really didn’t) and I skipped school for an entire week

Yeah… I never had that luxury of online school. Before COVID I graduated in 2018, so yeah… attended school every day. Got the grades I wanted, did I get any benefit out of it? Not really just led too more stress of going from part time too full time of a dead end job. That is what High School got pretty much everyone.

Here’s a good tactic for skipping school: If you got no sleep last night, instead of telling them that, just tell them you’re sick instead! Getting no sleep will make you look like a walking corpse, and given the fact that your parents are probably up early for work and dead tired themselves, they might not be able to tell the difference! Like Wurdie said though, whatever you do, *don’t tell them you got no sleep!* The moment you do that, you can bet your bottom dollar they’re making you go!

I guess I was in the opposite situation, where my grades were high enough that no teacher gave a fuck what I did. So of course, I pulled out the gaming laptop and played Kingdoms of Amalur and Warcraft 3 in the middle of the class where everyone could see me. I did Skyrim once too. And one teacher was cool enough that he'd just let me leave the school in his class, it was the last one of the day.

Believe it or not, but I’ve never faked being sick to skip school because I have this weird thing where I feel extremely guilty for the smallest things, so if I faked being sick to skip school, I’d feel like a criminal

I skipped a assembly the second to last week of my senior year. Mind you, I was 19. I just up and bailed. Walked to the dollar store, bought some drinks and some chips and sat in the park. I got caught and got detention for a week which I also bailed. I still graduated

I only skipped school/class about 4 times total. Was only semi-caught once (teacher suspicious, but nothing came of it), but it was surprisingly easy to just walk out of school. Just walking out with purpose! I even had a specific hall that was excellent for it, despite also not having much cover for hiding. One skip was because i didn't want to dissect stuff in my bio class, so i skipped the latter half of the school day. It was my first time, I think I was a Sophmore, and had even planned it out. Looked for the most inconspicuous exit earlier in the week and settled on the art wing's long, empty ass hallway. Just acted as if i was going to go to the art room and do a casual look behind me, then just exit outside. We did have roaming police, but it was only one or two people. I think i ditched my backpack for this one because it'd be too suspicious considering we're not allowed to use them during school. I just walked to the nearest street corner so i could get out of the school's sight faster and then started walking home. While it was a decently long walk (20-30 mins) it was so fantastic to reach home when no one but my dog was present and relax! Until my sister came home from college early. I hid in my room, door closed, and turned off anything with noise. She left after about 15 minutes and i was back to relaxing! Other times i just went to the mall, this time with a backpack ready (Messenger bags were less suspicious looking)! Mainly because a parent or sister was home for the day and i didn't want to get caught. Good times! thanks for reminding me of that feeling!

For me it was so easy because i lived like 1 street away from school and my parent's wouldn't be home during school times, so id just go home and chill. Plus my school was outdated so it was easier to get away with skipping. Until one day i get home and my older sister was there sitting on the couch 💀

I remember I was in 8th Grade during when it was all remote during half of 2020-2021 school year. There was only 3 days i missed due to the fact the school never taught us how to used this website called schoology, which was pure ass. On the the 3rd day I only went to my 1st period class but fell asleep the rest of the day causing me to miss more classes. Believe it or not in the second half of the year, it became hybrid, I didnt go back to school til March. Now you maybe confused, but honestly, I hated online school more than regular school. I got even less sleep than I did before and it was impossible to skip since they will notify your parents, although they didn't those other days I not showed up. But my mom was working from home so yeah. I ended up graduating from middle school depsite the trials during the year. During 9th Grade Freshman year, alot of kids did skip days, mainly Monday, Wednesday (since it was always a half a day), and Friday. This was when it was fully in person, but masks were still required, but at least social distancing was relaxed. Sophmore year is when things became fully normal. I am going into my Junior year of high school and I am almost there. 😮‍💨🙌🏾

i used to fake being sick to skip school because I was afraid of the fire alarm/fire drills at school and also whenever i didn't do my hw i would skip school to avoid facing my teacher (and also be able to do my hw at home and turn it in later w/o getting in trouble. (My homework from that class was on paper btw).

bro how tf do you american kids skip school so easily? here in australia it's a lot harder, especially for my school. 1. attendance. if you're absent, a notification gets sent to BOTH of your parents through their emails AND messages. also my school marks attendance every period 2. the school layout and leaving class. my school was an outdoor school, meaning if you weren't in a room or a certain wing (science labs or technology rooms), then you were outside, and you were most likely near an open space or a hotspot for teachers (eg. staff room, office, etc.), or you were near or in an open space, meaning you were susceptible to getting caught in 4k without you knowing until it's too late. anyway, leaving class was painful. to just leave class, you had to get your student diary signed by a teacher, which recorded how long you were out of class, why you were out of class and the day. also, even if you didn't want to leave school and just chill in the bathroom, the school LOCKED THE BATHROOM, AND YOU HAD TO SHOW THE FRONT OFFICE YOUR PASS SO THEY COULD GIVE YOU THE KEY. also my school had a rule where only certain year groups could use one of the two bathrooms, to narrow down suspects for incidents in the bathrooms. however, an easy excuse to get out of this was to leave your bag somewhere and then pretend you lost your bag, and then just roam around the school to clear your mind or just wait for someone else to get the key and you go in with them. then you can come back at the end of the lesson or something and just chill for the last 5-10 minutes so that way it doesn't look suspicious for you. don't do this too often, maybe once every 2-3 weeks at most, so that way no one snitches. 3. teachers. my school was located almost in the city centre, where basically everything is. houses/apartments, shopping centres, parks and more. but the thing is, the teachers that weren't teaching WERE PATROLLING THE ENTIRE CITY LOOKING FOR STUDENTS, THIS EVEN APPLIED AFTER SCHOOL. basically, if you weren't with a parent/guardian or you didn't have a signed note by either your year/grade coordinator, homeroom teacher and/or parent, it was an afternoon detention or iss. they banned the two major shopping centres, the park nearby, the city library, the hospital for some reason, and it was just a hot mess or restricting students. this is because of the schools "if you're in uniform, you're under school rules, even outside of school, because you'll make us look bad" policy. 4. no escape. when I said my school was located near the city centre, there was a police station almost right next to the school, so the cops can catch kids and tell their parents and charge them with truancy (staying away from school without good reason) which is a crime. also, there was only one easy point of escape during school, and that was in an open space, which was the teacher's parking lot. conveniently connected to the school's private chapel, you could just run straight through the parking lot and the side of the church to get out to the other side, which was actually pretty tiring from how big it was (my school took up an entire block, it was a k-12 school). in summary, attendance, leaving class, and teachers were strict, and the school layout made it nearly impossible to skip school or class. also when I talk about "skip school" in this context, I mostly refer to leaving school mid-way through the day.

I graduated when I was 17 so unfortunately I never got to sign myself out. All the skipping I did was online classes during covid I had something like 90 unexcused absences cause I was not tryna do that shit. When they did hybrid I went in person cause it was only from 9-12 in the morning and I wanted to have the afternoons to do whatever the fuck I wanted

in my school there an elephant in the room. you see if you skip the whole school day you get 1 point, and if you get enough points, your progress to next grade is non-existing, and thats elementary school, in middle and high school, every school hour is 1 point. so if you skip a total of 2 weeks you stay. that increadible painful, i mean if your careful youl get a warning and spare you but if you abuse it, then karma will be on your way

I never skipped school, at least in middle school and high school. In elementary school, my father once taught me that skipping school is not okay, it’s a shame to be skipping school, because it shows how indulgent you are to yourself. So since then, I never skipped school. Even when I was not feeling well, I never did skip school.

Yeah ISS was terrible... heck one time I got ISS'd a whole day in, and I just left School grounds as soon as I could "go out Lunch on my own", though the 75 minutes walk back home was long and it was cold, Canada's typical winter cold mind you. Fortunately, despite my mom knowing about it since the staff called in on her and ratted my unannounced departure, I basically got away with this and she knew I didn't eat my lunch since I left w/o backpack and lunch box. She was working at a restaurant at the time, and paid me lunch, and she was simply worried about my safety, she didn't even scolded me at all. Though now I feel bad for worrying her, it's still an accomplishment to have endured the morning, and GTFO during the afternoon

My mom gave me 4 skip it days every semester. I could wake up and just tell my mom I didn't want to go. Though if i missed to many days for doctor appointment (i started getting migraines from 14-17 due to a carbon monoxide leak my grandpa half hearty fixed) or my grades were bad then I didn't get those days renewed the second semester. But my mom preferred me to be honesty rather then fake being sick.

I was taking online college classes and one of them i took was statistics. Our teacher had zoom lectures on Wednesdays the were about 3 hours in the evening. Due to work i wasn't able to attend all of them, but i remember during ome particular lesson i got hungry and ordered a pizza. Because my camera was off, i left and picked up my pizza and when i got back home it was still going, noone was the wiser. I even laid in bed, watching tv while i ate.
