I was asked to show the assembly of my new XTool D1 pro 20 watt. Here it is along with a few recommendations for the assembly that are not in the manual.
For templates that I have made, check out my Etsy shop. I build files for projects and tools for laser engravers.

Just now had time to put my d 1 pro together. Have been building a rolling cabinet enclosure for it, the top patterned after your enclosure. I watched this video and assembled my Pro step by step just as you went through it. Thank you so much for making this video for us in the field. I never had to open the instruction book....you know how men are with instructions!!. I will be watching your next video on configuring it. Thank you again. You Rock!!!

Thank you for sharing this. The way you prepare the timing belts first plus the hint on the view through the gap of the coupling before pulling tight these screws made all the difference for me. Now I get clean results. No more wobbling, no more unwanted lines. Just as clean as you would expect it. I love it. BTW I am on the 10w. Maybe you should even repurpose just that part of your great assembly video and give it a title related to the problem/the bad result so people can find it from that direction. I bet you would get a lot of views for that short one and it would help your channel like you help us. Thanks again. Keep going. I wish you lot's of success.

Thanks so much for sharing this video! I wish I’d seen this before putting mine together today. You still saved me a bunch of time on the parts I got stuck on. Getting ready to hook up my air assist and order your jigs … great job on your videos! They’re always very informative and help a TON!

Thanks for this video. I followed this step by step as I put my xtool together. Those white connectors were indeed a huge pain to put in. Your idea to use the calipers to make sure the belts were in sync was very helpful (I also learned how to use calipers). I ran into an issue trying to connect the air assist nozzle to the laser. It wouldn't seem to lock into the threads. Luckily there were instructions in the back of the guide showing how to take off the laser tip to clean it. So I took the laser tip out, connected the air assist, then reconnected it. I did some initial burn tests and things are looking good! Thanks

Thank you so much. I have the D1 I got in March but it is still in the box. Feeling a little more comfortable in putting it together. Just sure where I'm going to keep it. I don't have any heat in my work shed and it get pretty cold here in Canada in the winter. Thanks again

I did the same thing with the manuals. I was like "Uh... this isn't enough information" before I realized it was the wrong guide. The Quick Start Guide is actually really well made and the illustrations are fantastic. Was easier to put together than my Creality Ender 3D printer for sure. You can tuck the included screwdriver into one of the rails behind the wire and it will operate without it getting in the way so you always have a nice little driver on hand to tension belts.

Thanks for the informative video. One thing, when you push the gantry all the way forward, the right side hits a portion of the motherboard. This caused a slight difference between the two sides. I went back and loosened the one side of coupler and readjusted with a ruler. Have not turned on machine yet.

If you use the back, you wont have this issue. The base for the laser will also hit on the front.

GREAT, David! Now, lemme "axe" you a question. Will you give me/us an avenue whereby we can PAY you for the design for your next enclosure? I bought the xTool enclosure for my D1, but I really like the way yours works. Too, I model a lot of what I do after how you do things, so I'd like to have as much uniformity as possible. Another quick Q that I just thought of: Will you make your new enclosure taller so as to accommodate a camera that you can focus without having to install a fisheye lens? Oh, doggone it...one more thing. On the xTool Live thingie Wednesday night, did you hear them refer to your outfit as "The Clock Shock"?? I thought that was so funny how they pronounced it. Hello just wondering if you made the blueprint for the enclosure on the D1 Pro? I’m a newbie and I don’t know what I’m doing. I want to thank you for getting me through the assembly process now all I need is to learn how to use the XCS so I can test it. my husband is on me about having the D1 pro in the house. He is mr safety. He thinks that I might burn the house down 😮. No space in the garage.

mmm or make it easy and square the X to the Y after set up and then ensure tightness of the rubber track... no need to make it this complicated... just saying.. sometimes when you make things this difficult, it scares people off when in reality this should be a 15 minute install.

I take my time and do it right. Never had to redo an assembly. My idea of a good assembly is one that only has to be done once, not one that is fast. You do you and I will do me. Thanks, I was just showing that the design makes it stay square.
