Getting the air box boot back on can be the hardest part of cleaning a carb.

My carb has a t hose that connects to the top of the carb and goes towards the back and front. Do you know where the hose going towards the front goes to? Thanks brother

Thanks for this video. I got a TTR50 and a TTR125 that have been sitting for about 2 years. Got them started okay, but when I throttle either of them they just die. Any suggestions to correct that? Idle is fine, but cannot throttle them at all. Also cannot shut off the choke at all either.

Michael Cook sounds like a plugged up jet or passage in the carb man!!

Michael Cook try to pull the choke off of the ttr and if it’s 70 degrees or higher it should start and ride fine I don’t even have a choke on mine and it runs fine, there’s a lot of problems with the 2003 model with the choke and that’s the year I have

Great video but I have to disagree at 3:50. Jets have extremely fine tolerances and you should never use anything metal to clean them or the carby itself.

I try to use electric start on mine and it sounds so close to starting but it just doesn’t. I don’t have much expirience on working on dirt Bikes. Do u have and suggestions of what the problem might be

Can you tell me what year your bike is? I have a TTR 125 that I just bought and it has that carb on it. Every repair manual and video shown a different carb. Is that your original carb?

This was a customer bike from almost 3 years ago...I can't remember exactly but i'm thinking it was 03 or 04. I thought that was original carb, but I do remember on many of them I have installed the cheap ebay carb, too.

Hope by now you've got yours figured out. Few tips, with the vin check the 10th digit and it represents the year. Also yamaha has 2 carburetor manufacturers, most common is Mukini but they also use I think Mogo. Look on the side of your carb, clutch side on the 125 and it'll be stamped on the carb who makes it so you can get the correct parts.

How tight should the pilot jet be on? I tighten mine snug and the bike dosrnt stay at idle. It just dies

Pilot jet just tightens like a normal bolt or screw

What if you already have gas in the bike and you take the carb off will it all flow out?

Spencer Dillon just turn your gas off, and only the little bit of gas in the Carb will come out.

Turn the cockpit off and take the carb off but BTW there will still be gas in the carb

BFB inc. take it dude easy clean and usually it’s just the jets that need cleaned and some extra build up that can be buffed out in a second.

i put the carb back on but now when i turn on the gas a bunch comes leaking out the bowl drain.

That means either something is in a bind and not allowing the float to move up and let the needle close off, or the needle seat is bad.

what do you do if the small jet keeps getting re-plugged with gunk? I've just gotten this Bike and it had been sitting for Years even found a mouse nest in the air intake, I've cleaned the carb several times and it's been close to firing up twice but the small jet keeps getting plugged up...

Thanks I flushed the Tank and yesterday I took apart the entire Carburetor and and cleaned every part inside of it and then blew some air through the nozzles and valves and after that it started up.
