This has been a tough year for me. I injured my acl, recovered, had surgery and now I am in recovery again. You don't know how many times I have done this video!! Modifying each time, depending on the stage of recovery. It has helped so so so much. It covers everything, strenght, mobility, stretching and breathing. Thank you ❤🙏

Thank you so much, Allie! This was so informative and my knee pain that has been bothering me for days is relieved! I appreciate the constant reminders to stay at 70% and not to push too hard. Sometimes chronic pain makes you want instant results and you push way too much! I will definitely revisit this practice often. Thanks again for being such an awesome teacher!

This is a powerful practice. I love feeling the energy surge with certain pose releases. I have tried a number of yoga practices for sensitive or injured knees and yours is coming out on top. Thanks for your deep investigative work you did to prepare this. 🥰

Allie- this is still my fave, so thank you again. I am a little unclear about hip points, how I sense them in my body, and what it means when you say point the hip points up into the rib cage. I think I’m doing it when I tuck my tailbone just a bit, but any additional descriptors would be most welcome. I think you talk about it in chair pose primarily. 😊 🙏

Hi Kathy, happy to try and clarify a bit! Reach your fingers down on both sides and touch the bony, protruding part of the front of your pelvis. We call these your hip points (anatomical name: the anterior superior iliac spines in case you want to look them up on a diagram!). When you're cue to keep your hips points up or forward, it primarily means to make sure you're not sinking towards the left/right and twisting. To point the hip points up towards the rib cage is a cue to tuck the pelvis gently when in chair pose. You want to be tucking enough that your low back feels supported, but not so much so that you're rounding over in the spine.

I've had many years of discomfort in my knees it became normal to me, but after this practice my knees and other muscles were turning on and realising the beauty of these exercises and my knees feel lighter. Thank you Thankyou, your motivation and words are inspirational and you make me feel like it's okay my body can't do all the things, in time they will but i need to give love to my body and patience to my mind and vibrations to my soul.

Funny you said WOW right after, that is exactly what I was gonna say to you! That was an amazing much needed practice, you taught me so much to focus on..the knife edge of the foot, knee over second toe..so much to incorporate but wow what a difference! So thanks agai, you nailed it Allie!, 👍🌻🌹

Beautiful class, thank you! I've been suffering from knee pain for almost a year and I was so grateful that the pace of the class was slow and mindful enough that it didn't trigger pain anywhere! I only avoided virasana because it's high-risk for me, and took savasana instead. Thanks for sharing!

Love the pace of this class...I enjoyed or needed to hold my poses longer and doing your class helped me slow down. First time taking your yoga class it was really good! Helped my knee drama lol I will repeat this one 👍🏼

Couldn't do the King Arthur pose like that on the wall but choose to put the lower leghalve down on the mat. But for the rest it gave me my courage back to do my daily yoga session again. Hopefully my knee heals faster.....Thank you

That practice felt wonderful! That was definitely a very challenging practice, but a different kind of challenge than the norm. I don't think I have ever shook so much during a practice. My right butt cheek developed a big twitch during the second, longer round of utkatasana with the block haha

Thank you for this video! The sequence was perfect for my knee pain. I noticed I had a very hard time taking full breaths in the final pose; is that normal?

This was great! I’ve been doing a fair amount of spin classes lately which has resulted in some slight swelling of my knee. Out of this, is there any pose you would recommend I implement daily as the knee heals?

I’m confused about the ‘chair’ pose variation....are the shins and knees supposed to be forward of the ankles? Or in line with? I’m afraid of making myself worse if my alignment is off!

Hi Stephanie! In chair pose your knees shouldn't extend past your ankles, making as straight a line as possible between ankles/knees/shins with the weight being put more into the heels! You really need to engage the backside body for this pose (hamstrings and glutes) to make sure you're not putting pressure into the knee joint.

hi! don’t know if i’m too late... but do you know anything about runner’s knee/plateofemoral disfunction and would this be beneficial for them? i love your channel!

Hi Savannah! Yoga is a great recovery activity for runners and can really help if it is incorporated with your cross training routines. Are you weight lifting or doing body weight exercises at all? This class would be a great addition to any of those routines! But first you definitely need to discuss it with a doctor or physical therapist to make sure it safe.

Allie - The Journey Junkie i’m not a runner at all i’m very inactive but i was diagnosed with plateofemoral disfunction which is known as runner’s knee... i go to a yoga class but i’m unable to do many of the postures, like child’s pose, because i can’t bend it very much?
