Yongdingmen Gate in Beijing

In this China vlog about living in Beijing as a foreigner, I am out looking at the historic city gate in Beijing called Yongdingmen Gate. This was the main gateway into the old Beijing City, but it is now very quiet, to the point that I think people have forgotten how important this gate was.

Thanks for sharing some historical context. I also enjoyed learning and watching the older footage of the gate. It made the area come alive.

Thank you, apologies in not responding to your comment sooner - when I was looking at the gate I wanted to see more of the history and I was amazed at what I could find online - including old footage. ❤️

It is a great walk, you do have a couple of detours but nothing that takes you too far off the path and if you walked all the way up to the forest park… you would feel that walk! But well worth it.
