Soft classic is the hardest for me, because I cannot have a day where my hair is messy, my clothes are large and comfy, i look like a hobo, when everyone else does it, it looks normal, with me it looks like im going through something, either just came out of jail or was homeless for a month. It's hell!! I cant look put together 24/7 it's tiring

You are not alone! Have the exact same issue. For me, if i have a really "comfy" weekend at home - having a soft, but fitting pyjamas and braids have become my go to. Looks less trollish than eg sweetpants. My mom is a flamboyant natural and i do envy her looking cool in slightly tussled hair.

Me, too. I look like I have chicken legs, lol. I'm experimenting now with baking soda and water to clear out toxins and heavy metals, it also creates an alkaline ph. You can look up the recipe on line. I overdid it the first time, so be careful. This is an experiment, but it's never bad to remove toxins.

You don’t need much detail on your clothes. You pretty much can just put your hair in a ponytail or move it to the side, usually if I want to go a comfortable fit, I’ll wear a fitted white t- shirt with some pointy close toe Sandals and regular mid waist cigarette, straight leg, pants I’ve even been able to pull off yoga pants looks pretty good to me

I enjoy slighly cropped pants with elastic or half elastic waist (tailored athleisure, if you like) and a sweater , low heeled boots. Also straight leg, high waist denim with a soft collarless shirt or blouse. I rarely wear skirts or dresses on casual days but I do love a knee length, body skimming sweater dress.. For complete dress down I like high waisted, slim, soft joggers and matching or tonal hoodie or sweater, and running shoes.
@katie-allen

I commented this to another person but I think it might apply here as well: I wonder if you would benefit from some comfy matching sets in a material like linen or 100% cotton. You could try to find like a loose but slightly cropped linen button down and matching loose high waisted pants or something similar. That way it has the comfort of an athleisure outfit but it has a more classy, put together feel. Idk where you’re from but I’ve seen a lot of that kind of thing in stores lately and it seems like a good option for classics who want to wear something comfy and casual to the grocery store but don’t feel like athleisure is working. Also, like someone else said, have your hair up looks great on classics usually. I think that the claw clip trend is a huge win for classics. Pull your hair back into a tight updo with a claw clip and you’ll be trendy and it will look great. I don’t think people need to follow all the trends by any means, but if there’s a trend that happens to be great with your body type, may as well enjoy it!

I am definitely a soft classic. Where I vary is that even with weight gain, I still have a bit of a defined waist, I don’t have full lips and I do have very defined cheek bones, but still pretty soft generally, so I assume I’d still be considered soft classic.

Is there a possibilty of being between a SC and an FG? When first doing the Kibbe Test I got the result of Flamboyant Gamine. But watching vidoes about it it didn't feel right. So I did it again after a while and then decided that I was a Soft Classic (althought I have 2x D and 2x C under bone structure and 4x C under body flesh + facial structure - so the other way round of Kibbe's definition of Soft Classic - and overall just one more D/E than C - 7x D/E and 6x C). Is this mixture of D/E and C indicating that I'm in between SC and FG but since my bone structure is 2x D and 2x C I'm more drawn to Soft Classic? I'm not curvy but not straight either and I'm an apple shape when I gain weight (meaning that I gain weight first around my waist) and my limbs are quite short in comparison to my body = SC, but my bustline is small but broad = leaning towards FG. When looking at only parts of my face they are mostly D/E = in combination with my 2x D and 2x C answers for my bone structure: leaning towards SC, but when looking at it as a whole it looks very "bland" (without ANY edge - not chiselled at all but also without any roundness - maybe because I'm half Asian so I have a very flat face compared to Europeans) but I've always been told that I have something masculine in my face (in my youth I've been mistaken for being gay a couple of times) and I have VERY fine, thin and wavy hair = ?? a mixture of SC and FG? And although I don't have any edges and have many round shapes (like my knees aren't chiselled at all and quite fleshy) I don't have much of a waiste. I'm much more drawn to Soft Classic than Flamboyant Gamine and I guess I would go with it if my hair wasn't that fine, thin and wavy and if I didn't look so horrible in flowy, softer clothes but so much better in crisper, straighter lines.. (Because I have so many D/E I'm not a Dramatic Classic either! So please help! 😭)

I have been trying to determine my Kibbe type, but I have an issue concerning height. I have rather severe scoliosis of the spine that was never treated. Consequently, I stand at 5 feet 4 inches, but my height would have been 5' 6 or 7 without the spinal curvature. I am small boned and slender with somewhat sharp facial features. Everyone tells me I must be a gamine, but I cannot see myself as that at all. The answers to a Kibbe questionnaire always come up as dramatic classic. My question is do I think of myself as the taller or the shorter height when determining type? Thank you.
@katie-allen
@katie-allen Жыл бұрын
Idk if this is right, but fact is that you’re working with the height you have now so that’s what I’d go with. Maybe you would have had more vertical, but you didn’t end up having that, so no need to factor in vertical that isn’t there

Would love to see a breakdown on women’s suiting for SC. What type of shoulder? Lapel shape? Pockets? What shirts to wear underneath the jacket? Single or double breasted? Fabrics? Structured clothing easily looks too masculine on me, but unstructured is just as easily oversized and floppy. And the in between examples for mid- and plus-sizes look sooo dated. What’s up with that? I’m tired of looking like a mess at work. Please help a girl out 🙏

I don't think so, it's probably just a generalization. I saw in one video an actress (i think...) who's a dramatic classic but is 5'4. I just use these as guides instead of rules. I'm so sure my mom is also soft classic like me but she's 5'2. Since we're southeast asians, people here are more on the smaller side.
@gretslie

I also always take the Kibbe heights as guidelines, not rules. What is important is the overall proportions of the body, not the literal height. I think people get a little too caught up in the heights mentioned and think that they are hard and fast rules, when Kibbe himself never followed them! 😂 So, if you think you are a soft classic and all evidence points to that except for the number measurement of your height, you probably are a soft classic! Proportion is everything.

Question on height: "You are kind of short, even one doesn't think of it, since you look balanced. But you are almost 10 cm shorter than all of us." My team of coworkers, all naturals and dramatics. I am tall by soft classic standard with my 166cm, however I am almost always the shortest woman in the room. Since I apparently am "shortish" by local standards, and "tall" by Kibe. Is the vast majority of native Swedish women just natural or dramatic, or did Kibe only look at a relatively short population?? 🤔

@BloodSweatandFears I've seen everywhere from 5'5 - 5'7 for Grace, and it's a bit confusing since she's listed as Pure Classic in the book (which can be up to 5'7) but was later moved to Soft Classic (5'6 limit). I wonder if the elimination of Pure Classic gives Soft Classic that extra inch now...? Kibbe is re-writing the book, so perhaps he would specify there.

@BloodSweatandFears Yeah, I feel you! Finding the right type can take ages, but I've learned a ton from studying and my style has improved significantly since the start, so I think it's worth it! I assumed for a long time I must be some type of Gamine because my face looks Gamine, but then I learned Kibbe doesn't use the face to type anymore since the system is more about clothing lines. I realize now that I'm some type of Classic, but I can't seem to commit to either Yin or Yang, so I just use Pure Classic recommendations, even though Kibbe eliminated the category. I still think it works!
