This is so correct even from hour to hour. Please never give up. You are not on your own. There are millions of us world wide and i am convinced that every one of us cares about every other person even iwhen we do not know nor have never met them. May you all recover.

Thank you! I’ve been in a horrible thought loop for the last few days, I’m reminding myself that I’ve gotten out of this before and I will again. These videos help remind me that there’s a reason I’m doing this.. not because of a real threat but because of my anxiety. My negative thoughts almost always start with “WHAT IF”

The best advice I’ve heard is that “your problem is not the problem”. There can be a deaf, blind person with no limbs who has peace and no mental issues. Now I just have to accept this.

I’m not diagnosed with OCD, but with therapists advice it’s become apparent I might have it, and this channel and especially your videos are helpful beyond words. It’s strange to me how obvious the idea of just accepting the thought is (albeit difficult to do) but it helps enormously. I have a grand fear of losing my mind and developing a debilitating psychotic illness, and the fact that my brain is in overdrive all the time trying to figure out if I do or don’t sort of adds to this fear because why would I be in such a state if I weren’t insane? But just fully stepping back from it and telling myself, ‘let’s say that I am going insane, and I will let it happen’ is so weirdly effective at bringing myself back, because without the anxiety to motivate that phobia, my brain doesn’t compute it as fear and doesn’t know what to do with it, which is fantastic! Although this doesn’t always work for long amounts of time, it is very motivating to see it work. Thank you so much for getting me out of a pit I thought I could never escape, and never even thought escape was possible. I mean this completely genuinely and wholeheartedly.

I don’t understand so many other peoples intrusive thoughts or doubts, but I always see the same pattern or formula in mine and it’s so exhausting. Meds don’t help for me they seemed to worsen my symptoms at some points in the day like when I would just wake up. But some stuff is fun. You will have like a couple hours at a time where you feel like yourself again.

Yep I tried ssris and did not feel good on them. Zoloft to be specific so I am just using ali greymonds tracking method which is highly effective. It started working the day I started. I still have some rumination but I ignore them and for compulsions I hold back strongly and don’t do them.

Thank you for this enlightening video. What’s interesting is that, while in the throes of OCD, one can doubt anything except doubts themselves. Why is that? I assume is because you wrongly believe doubts are your friends and that they will eventually help you find an unshakeable certainty, which will save you from “drowning into a sea of doubts”. On the other hand, if you start to doubt your doubts, you don’t see any end in sight. However, thanks to mindfulness, ERP, and REBT, you gradually learn when to doubt and when to stop doubting, even if it’s not always easy.

You are so right about different OCD themes overlapping. I didn't believe this at first, but they take on similar forms and request reassurance and compulsions all the same. I thought I just needed to watch videos based on ROCD, but I'm trying to move away from this and watch videos overall to get a big picture instead of trying to be so specific about my particular type of OCD.

It can make you doubt anything. I got triggered when you mentioned the ambulance part because I was once taken by the ambulance after massive anxiety and having suicidal thoughts. Four years later, watching this video, and bam. Triggered and feeling guilty for taking up the time from the ambulance, even though we waited for 2 hours because other calamities had priority over my case. Was doing well and now OCD is convincing me that I'm a horrible person. OCD is soooo shitty.

I'm trying to expose myself to my fears. Babysteps, like not taking pictures anymore before I leave. But now I doubt more. Like when I'm in a store and leave without buying anything, I'm doubting if I putted everything back that I was holding. Can I use the same tric to get over this?

13:00 what in our bodies causes this reaction though? So, you are feeling the throat swelling up, the sensations of it even though nothing is happening? It's as if our body generates the feelings that our mind is telling it to generate?

Sorry I did have to laugh about the Poison as that is what I have thought about the Uber drivers putting poison in my drinks from McDonald’s and I have tipped them out. Absolutely OCD can convince us of anything we think. Also I have convinced myself what if i become afraid of every person I know and guess what the ocd makes me feel fear around them. Therapists thought it was social anxiety but the fear wasn’t of been negatively judged it was been disconnected from every person and feeling fear forever. Omg this is exactly me the obsession over whether I have acceptance or not of my ocd then guess what ocd makes me feel like I don’t have acceptance.
