I don't think she said "definitely not." She said "technically no," because the FDA recommends that you cook meat up to a medium to medium well temperature at least. But I'm fairly sure she herself eats it medium rare all the time. She was just giving a technical answer, but for the most part if the meat is good quality and fresh, it should be safe. It is indeed true that ground meat does tend to be more riskier, but countless of burger restaurants around the world continue to serve their burgers with pink in the middle and it hasn't been a big issue as of yet.

He jokes, but a veggie burger fried in bacon grease or another meat-originating oil DRASTICALLY increases the flavor quality. Lorenzo's right that you can make a good veggie burger out of beans and mushrooms, but it's impossible to compete with the real thing without cheating somehow. Basically, stop trying to make a veggie burger and instead focus on foods that are more vegitarian/vegan focused to begin with, or foods that play to the strengths of those things. Vegan baked goods, for instance, are almost universally superior to non-vegan equivalents.

French pastries made with French butter are far more flavorful. 🥐 Italian cookies and pastries are amazing as well. Five Guys isn't the best, but it is a decent alternative when a freshly made, home-cooked burger isn't an option. I personally prefer other places. My point was that DINING OUT is a different experience than eating at home. You don't go out to eat for a better meal (unless you are a bad cook). You go out to eat because you want something and don't have time to prepare it yourself or you don't want to cook, or for any of another myriad of reasons. The manner in which you replied suggests that you see no point in going to Five Guys because you can make a similar tasting burger at home, which completely ignores all of the reasons why one might be compelled to eat at Five Guys in the first place, and thus your point is moot, as I previously stated. If I misconstrued your point, it is only because you failed to make it clear. However, even with the clarification that you provided, my point stands - your argument is that Five Guys is nothing special as far as taste, but my argument is that taste generally isn't the reason why one chooses to go out to eat rather than dining in.
