One uncomfortable truth I learnt is that you shouldn't take advice from people just because they are older because EVEN FOOLS GROW OLD. You can make your own decision with your "small" age and it is the RIGHT ONE!

That message in the church that glorifies suffering is what is keeping our economy on the struggle line. People are packed in church Monday to Sunday from morning to evening. Those same people would be out there selling tomatoes or planting crops on their land but nope, they are in church praying to cancel the spirit of poverty. I'm speaking for Ugandans who spend 24hours in church.

Here is mine, everyone's life does not revolve around you, so sometimes when you think someone made a particular decision to hurt you or annoy you it's not always the case. Sometimes people are only thinking about themselves and what's best for them and you did not factor in their decision making (especially if you are not close). Knowing this will save you from a lot of heartaches

The motherhood part I relate so much, when my son joined boarding school I couldn't sleep the first two weeks, so questions were running in my head like was he able to wake up on time? Is he being bullied, did he lose his locker key n so on, only for him to come for midterm n narrate how he enjoyed school😂😌

1: Students who score grade A in exams won’t necessarily be the most successful in life. A combination of book smarts, street smarts, emotional intelligence and good old LUCK is what amounts to success. 2: the sunk cost fallacy- I have invested x years in this relationship/venture so I’ll stay in a toxic situation because of the amount of time, energy, money etc. Let it go. 3: people are in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime

I think a lot of people just don't know what words to use. So they end up using projecting words to describe people who are 9-5. It does not bother me at all because I love my job ans good at it. We all have differenr trajectories in this life. If there were no 9-5 people, how would entrepreneurs be getting the services they need eg registering their companies, lawyers, government etc etc.

Uncomfortable truth. You will not get along or like some of your family members. The vibes they give are just negative/ toxic. Word Lyd. Never force relationships. Some people are just not good for your mental health. Unfortunately, you may be related to them. Distance is key. An episode of dealing with toxic family or you two reacting to anonymous subscriber secrets would be cool.

Ahhh the 9 to 5 thing hit home…and kwanza you mentioned that someone might enjoy finance. I’m in finance and I hear it all the time how the corporate world is not the one and how I should be in business (even though I know very well I’m not very entrepreneurial!!) Don’t get me wrong of course you should still be investing and making your money grow/go further but not everyone in business! And the parents are not heroes ahh this episode really hit home

Oh!but these two ladies, how so very nice to have them on this platform spitting out truths. The one truth abt our parents not being heroes but human beings...when u finally crack that code & fully comprehend that...it opens up the floodgates of/for giving grace & healing in the complex dynamic that is for parent/child relationships. Seeing ya parent(s) who u've had on a pedestal for so long as flawed human beings, is a REBIRTH & a cathartic freedom u didn't know u needed.

Love that you talked about the 9 to 5 thing. I keep being pushed into entrepreneurship and it isn’t for me. I love my 9 to 5. It aligns with my purpose, it’s within my mountain of influence, impactful and fulfilling. I earn well, get paid to travel, paid to think, lots of perks, great medical insurance, interest free loans etc So when someone tells me I should start my own thing (and they are many) I know they aren’t in alignment with my purpose and they get scaled down in my mind.

The lady having drama with her mum - I agree with Lydia that she should first save up at least 6 months of living expenses. I would also advice her to move to a house cheaper than what she can afford. So if she can afford 40K rent, then move to a house that is 25K. And then save, save, save. This is the advice I would also have given to my younger self
