I got a shoulder injury practicing for the handstand puhs-up. My physical therapist told me I likely have an impingement in my rotator cuff that is probably caused by too little mobility. I've gotten some exercises to do on a daily basis to get better mobility, but that's taking some time.

Hi Yuri! have you ever encountered any client who couldn't do handstands anymore because of a cyst on their wrist? if you have, how did they deal with it, or work around it? i've been practicing handstands for about 3 years now and suddenly developed a ganglyon cyst on my left wrist, causing me pain everytime i try to bend it more than about 90 degrees. unfortunately i've been unable to train handstands on the floor for some time now, and am now trying to learn how to balance on parallettes. if you have any experience with this type of issue, can you share your knowledge with me? thank you for everything.

like all of this it's very individual. I would suggest checking out my vimeo wrist sequence for some good exercise, as well as my wrist rehab article on my website you may have to modify your practice using parallettes or decline blocks if the pain is consistent

Do you have any advice on practicing handstands and doing light acrobatics after a torn meniscus injury? I recently suffered a torn meniscus in my knee after trying to learn a forward handspring and landing awkwardly on my left foot. I just wasn't careful enough. I'm trying to avoid surgery if possible, and after 2 months functionally it's not bothering me that much. Thanks for the vid!

best advice I can give is to take it slow. do lots of strength/rehab for the knee and leg, and gradually expose yourself to jumps, landing, and impact before going full out again

Do you have any good exercises to build strength for a one arm handstand press?

lots of them. You can probably find a few if you watch some of my older videos My best suggestion is to attend a workshop or maybe book an online consult with me so I can give you advice specific to your individual technique It's unlikely I'll make a youtube video on this topic anytime soon since it's such a specific topic and will reach a very small portion of my viewers

I feel pain in my right rhomboid minor when i do handstand, is that normal?

No. You should not feel any pain while doing a handstand. If you do that’s a sign that something is wrong

Have you ever met anyone that had broken their neck from handstands and if so how can I reduce the risk of breaking my neck?

I have not. I think this posibility is extremely unlikely as even if you fall on your head, your are not falling a great distance. I think you would have to fall in a really specific way for this kind of injury to even be possible. The best thing you can do is make sure you;re strong enough to hold yourself up,. make sure you stay calm, and learn how to fall properly. Honestly,. I think it's an irrational fear to have for handstands. Take it slow, learn the process, and risk of injury is minimal

If I want to teach my toddler to do handstands can I just hold him by his ankles and get him to weight his hands?

that could be one way to expose them to the skill. Or just have them walk their legs up the wall gradually getting more inverted
