Will you be fixing the warping issue and double trigger after the one year warranty? Developping new modules for an unstable product seems off track to me.

Yeah my OP-Z is trash now. Encoders have popped out, double triggers, etc. Really poor build quality and not a great foundation to build new workflows around.

This is basically a disposable product which is crazy given the cost. They really should fix these issues or maybe drop the price by like 75 %.

Sold my op-z for a m8 tracker for the exact issue I mentioned above lol. The m8 is also a much stronger sampler. It’s unfortunate because the op-z had some great potential but sonically it’s so limited and that could’ve been fixed with firmware updates but they only added the analog engine, which was arguably the best engine but still not enough to be good for sound design. As a performance device it’s quite a bit better than the m8, due to the punch in effects, the tape effect, the ability to quickly mute and solo. But if it’s so limited when it comes to both samples and synthesis, I’m not going to want to use it for performances anyway because I won’t be happy with the songs made on it. It also doesn’t integrate nearly as well with a DAW if you use the op-z as a sketchpad, that’s how I use the m8 and it lets me bounce all individual tracks for as long as I want, with individual effects and compression enabled or disabled per track, it’s so much easier and better for bringing ideas into ableton or whatever daw.

Cool for people who use OPZ in a setup, but I was expecting some revamped sampling capabilities, like you know the elephant in the room... threshold sampling, for people who use Guitars with the Z instead of drum machines :D

My entire interest in the TE brand hangs on the next firmware update. There are so many things the OP-Z could, and should have, been able to do from launch. I was an early adopter of the then-miraculous Yamaha QY-20, which in some ways could do in 1994 what the OP-Z still can't. I feel like I'm still waiting for the update that will catch the OP-Z up to its potential and up to everyone's expectations. OK, admittedly perhaps only *my* expectations, but can you blame anyone for having $600 expectations for a $600 device? But yes, of course I *will* buy the new module, and for its allotted days on this earth, I *will* keep bringing my OP-Z with me everywhere, because it has no competition. (Except maybe the M8, before you protest, but I can't stand trackers) And also because I'm rooting for you guys. You are, after all, my home team. Det var väl typ bara det.

@@teenageengineering I’d like to see the current 24mb sample memory increased so I can use all the available slots. Also more synths that can cover different styles of electronica or make an SDK available. Finally a few more effects that will allow for more sound design possibilities. Maybe you can bring over the CWO effect or Phone effect.

Thanks for this new module, it is possible to route out the internal delay track or even an internal fx track and come back in the op-z, to create a feedback loop track (in the module track)? Ask for dub mixing purpose. Thanks

I love what the opz can do. It's still my favorite hardware sequencer. What makes it frustrating is the hardware buttons. It's so close to a perfect device for me, but that holds it back a bit.

What cables are used with the guitar pedal? Can we use TS cables with ZM-4? I have 3.5mm trs patch cables and ts ¼” guitar cables. Maybe I just need a stereo to mono adaptor to go from 3.5mm to ¼”?

Does it fit into the case properly, unlike the CV module? I notice in the demo the base is missing from the op z.

it does fit very well and locks super tight by turning the lock switch. it uses the same locking mechanism as the rumble module. teenage.engineering/guides/op-z/modules/line#interface

@@teenageengineering my op lab module doesn't fit well at all and makes the case protrude... sent it in for replacement and they didn't do anything to fix the issue:/

I just want to be able to plug in a line level source directly to my OP-Z and sample from that input. I kind of assumed that this module would finally allow for that but that functionality isn’t mentioned in the video or documentation. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I bought a line module a month ago. The problem I’ve encountered with it is the midi stops working as soon as the module wiggles from inserting a cable. The lock tab isn’t locking completely. As soon as it rotates about 5-10 degrees, it loses the MIDI functionality. Pressing on the module doesn’t help. The green lock tab has to be completely set and maintain its position.

How about you make a device that Doesn’t double trigger and warp try something besides cheap plastic maybe 🤔 before you charge me for three more modules bringing the price of this device up to $1000 where MPC one can do infinitely more at the same price with synthesizers built-in that are from this century Unlike the OP one

I am going to try my best to be respectful. It is unbelievable that the OP-Z still doesn’t have some basic functionality like a simple way to get songs out of the unit ,audio and midi wise. Spending 20-30 minutes tracking out each sound 1 by 1 is one reason I stopped using mine. Sound selection is still boring and not up to pro sound quality. Sample/Sampling capability is sad. Sequencer is clunky and too simple for pro work, in my opinion. This doesn’t feel like the future but the past. It seems the internals are too cheap to make any significant updates. Then you charge another $150 for a module that outputs two mono channels by panning hard left and right? I don’t get what TE is doing.
