Fitting, anime’s whole rep (especially the Shounen) are generic, repetitive, and mostly just retell the manga (more often than not to a lesser degree with overuse of filler). It makes sense that the games would recreate that same vibe, especially with how much “fans” bitch with entitlement when devs don’t do EXACTLY what they want

This game is fine, ya’ll are just mean. It’s got issues, but it’s being fixed with the free dlc and balance and combo changes. Also, Mechamaru and Noritoshi will probably be free dlc, maybe even some Shibuya characters

I just spent the past few weeks playing J-Stars Victory Vs, and I had a hell of a lot of fun with it... and oddly enough I'm curious as to why everything in Jump Force was such a step backward from it

Honestly, I don't mind the idea of Arena fights so long as the AF they're making is for one suitable to the Anime getting it, and two, it's at least fun or enjoyable to play, Put some effort into it and I'm sure I'll have a decent time playing it, I enjoy the Storm Series (Though the latest one is meh), MHAOJ2 is fine, Demon Slayer was good, KlKIF was good, and I love the crap out of the BT/RB series, OPM was bad, Jump Force is garbage, J-Stars Victory Vs. was.....OK, and I can tell JJK is bad. Sparking Zero I'm excited for, and the announced Bleach game, I'm excited for, but that's partially cause us Bleach fans have been STARVED of games for some stupid reason, but that's cause it looks like effort and love is being put into them, well, SZ at least, we only JUST found out about Bleach, but still, I'm more than willing to have more Arena fighters, so long as they aren't garbage or boring cash grabs.

It's definitely unfortunate that Bandai Namco owns the licenses for most of the most popular animes. It's hard to force them to try something different when they have a monopoly on the market. At least FighterZ was a success and there are a lot of people asking for them to do that with another series

When JStars Victory Vs was coming out I was expecting them to take mechanics from the different anime games that Bandai Namco had released. The beam struggles & clash attacks of DBZ, the dodging & movement of Saint Seiya, etc. I think with those kinda things, the game could've felt epic even with the gameplay as it was. And I still think a Jump arena fighter could be great they just need to put in the work to make it great. Don't be afraid to make characters weird or a joke just to try and make them competitive. And don't make 2/3rds of the roster from 5 series, as well as making excuses why you're not including some characters that contradict other characters being on the roster.
