I’m having the same problem

I'm trying to find a good video or a diagram on how to wire up a 03-06 cluster plug with a OBD2 harness for a bench tester I'm building.

Can these clusters be flashed to think the engine is on all the time? I got one of these clusters for free and i wamt to use it in a sim. I got the cluster powered on but the gauges dont respond likely because it doesnt get am engine on message. Can i enable the cluster if i dunp the eeprom and edit some values?

For the steering wheel controls, do you have a video on adding that to a cluster that doesn’t have them or can you not do that

To check if the center pins on the 3v3 regulator are common just measure the resistance across them you don’t need to lift the component. I’m sure they are common as this is evident on another video where they are reducing the data lines to 3v3

Thanks for this. Used these directions and your programming tool to add this to my truck. I have a 2004 Yukon XL for the Canadian market, so when I went in the bit was originally 21. I changed it to 20 and it works. I also took the time to replace the burnt out lights with new ones from Mouser Electronics, part number 560-ESM1EW10YLW.

I had 2 of those amps and both have failed. Both were installed by pros, still have 1 of the broken ones collecting dust. Nice job on the fixing it and giving it another life.

Pulled the speedometer motor out of my 97 blazer cluster and forgot to look at the orientation. The board attaches directly to the speed/odom, and the board has 1-4 for speedometer. Seems to be able to go back in 2 different directions for pin out...Any help on correct orientation. Back of can has a 3 on it. The odometer has A+/A- and B+/B- so that's not help...

sorry for your story, man. I get it. ebay's customer service is a total joke now. they hide their phone number because they want you to deal through e-mail. But you end up getting replies back and forth from a different person every time that barely understands English (no, I'm not a bigot, just pointing out that they can't help you if they don't understand you when you logically explain a situation). they don't care about sellers. they kiss the asses of buyers. I had an item get delivered to the wrong address by USPS (I called USPS and they ADMITTED that they messed up). buyer filed claim. ebay refunded them and took my funds. I explained that USPS told me an alien label somehow got stuck over my label and item was misdelivered. they didnt care. they claimed it was MY responsibility to make sure item arrives to buyer. even though I obviously did my part and USPS messed up. to top it off, they DOUBLE-charged me for the final value fees. had to beg and plead for it back. and they said "we'll make a onetime exception." gave me back $3.03 of the $3.43 (they'll NEVER give up the $.40 transaction fee, FYI). I'm dangerously close to bailing on this site. Depop has been a godsend lately to get away from this nonsense.

I have this cluster in my truck and I am replacing the bulbs. Are there any solder joints that need to be retouched on this board? It has the LED indicators and not the PRNDL display. From a 2006 Suburban.

I recently bought a 2003 Tahoe. It looks like I have BO bulbs behind the Water Temperature and Voltmeter gauges. They don't light up at night with the truck's lights on. I see now I can't just reach behind the dash and twist out a 168 bulb and change it. This is way more complicated than I want to deal with.

Hey bro i went tru the process of doing this to my cluster and its seems like the rpm doesnt program like it should by pressing the check boxes. Do you have any ideas of what i could be doing wrong or maybe an update?

Obviously if you really wanted you could calibrate to the clone tips but they very from manufacturer to manufacturer so yeah it's really all up to you.

I don't understand the logic. You are hacking an ECM/PCM to send class 2 VPW data? Just get something like an ELM327 and send the class 2 data directly to the IPC! The SAE HS-3000 spec manual is available.

I used the cube leds on mines 5mm on back board and 3 mm in front board now only the front board turns on ,any help ?

So I have been doing cluster repair for years on these GM's but haven't gotten into doing custom stuff....but now I have a unique project in which I have swapped a 6.0 Express engine into a circle track truck and think it would be interesting to combine some techniques here and I am curious if it's doable. I actually want to take the 05 Express cluster and switch the speedo (which we don't need or want) to tach (nice big and centered), convert the FUEL guage to transmission temp (don't need fuel level and will use the transmission temp feed from the PCM for Engine oil temperature) and possibly change the other gauge locations). The overlay only needs to be functional. Is this something that can be done with IPC Hammer alone? (Aside from the overlay of course). Starting to like the idea of digging a little deeper into these!

Any way to know what bin files have what options on the git hub? i am looking for a bin file to flash my cluster with steering wheel controls, and trans temp gauge. my truck is an 2004, and i guess i could be lazy and just find a vin from a truck that already has the options , buy the vin through techline connect and program it, but for one, i would rather not spend my money on acdelco tds, when i can donate to mike instead, and 2 i like a challenge and learning new stuff.

If anyone is still comming here to do this , I am in the process of this I thought I messed up the board when doing it but you have to connect two bulbs to both circuits to get them to come on u can’t test just one at a time u can also just a jumper to a circuit and test signal at once but I just grabbed a 194 bulb as a tester and worked great
