In season one of Cheer, they highlighted how Monica Aldama took kids who had issues and gave them a life, hope, support, skills etc. Try dealing with just one teenager.. I know I can’t do it. I still have so much respect for her cause I know she’s just human, not God. But she has so much heart and strength to deal with teens and young adults year after year after year.

It's frustrating to think of a territory like Texas, deprived of bears, wolves, jaguars, bisons, antelopes, and elks. Few lions... And to think that all the native fauna has been replaced by exotic beasts. I'm not against hunting regardless, but for me it's sad to find myself in an ecosystem where the animals that populate it are not native to the place.

Dominionism is nothing new. Many political figures such as Bush family or Samuel Alito follow it. As conspiracy theory sounding as it it might sound. The goal is to hijack every aspect of government in order to form a theocracy. Just look back in 2005 where they tried to sneak creationism into schools pretending to be a science (intelligent design). Thankfully to Bush jr's disappointment the judge he appointed ultimately ruled against the Discovery Institute's text books as being unconstitutional and pseudoscience.

The movie brought me to tears, I was around at that time and I spent time with some of the Von Eric Brothers. I remember being in wrestling school, and Kevin Von Eric would take time to encourage and talk to us during wrestling practice. I remember talking with Kerry after a match, my daughter was there and we had a picture taken with Kerry. I had heard that David was not well and Kevin had told him Not to go to Japan,didn’t know if it was true or not I was heartbroken knowing now he was Ill before going to Japan. Also the end of the movie when Kevin was crying ask his dad you were supposed to take care of it is to be there for him, I called you and I Fritz had to say it was he called you you’re the one that wasn’t there. My main question is why wasn’t Chris in this movie? I managed a couple of gym’s in Denton Texas, Cris would come to workout, he was very nice kid, but he seemed to be troubled. Because he definitely was part of theVon Eric family. I was still in Denton when Mike von Erich took his life, I couldn’t believe it. But their dad was a tyrant, He those boys trying to to get what He never did, and pushed one by one into a hopeless situation. Rest in peace, David, Mike, Chris, Kerry and Jack. What about the allegations against her son? That was back in December so it could've have certainly been mentioned. Or the lawsuit Monica is now filing against the cheerleader who claimed Monicia helped cover up her SA? I understand how Aldama's reputation has been attacked but this piece comes across as one-sided in it's coverage.
@susieq2873Ай бұрын
If a young girl on a team you are responsible for overseeing is raped, you help her file charges with the police- it’s that simple. Then the legal system takes over … there’s no reason to cover it up because the district attorney will decide if there’s enough evidence to prosecute. This decision should be in the hands of the DA not a cheer coach. Really should have been a clear cut moral decision for Monica.

Really? Maybe this journalist just got to close, because she seems incredibly biased. Why does the lawsuit being dropped just end the story? Not even a mention of why it was dropped? There are still allegations, and now seemingly, between the first arrest, the lawsuit, and the arrest of her son… there is a pattern.
@tixer86292 ай бұрын
@@sargassum6190 A pattern of what, keeping in mind that an arrest, a lawsuit, and another arrest are not equivalent to a finding of guilt or liability?
@sargassum61902 ай бұрын
@@tixer8629 No, but it is evidence of a pattern of behavior. Maybe her covering up or making light of the situation made the people looking to her as a role model feel empowered to do these awful things. Maybe not. It is enough smoke for a journalist to at least try and look for a fire.
@mariella28842 ай бұрын
Jerry was not HER lowest point. That SA victim’s assault and subsequent coverup was not HER lowest point. As a journalist I would expect a bit more perception when it comes to someone’s wording. I too work with the public and that type of speaking shows you what you need to know. Her concern is with herself, so for those people I reserve my sympathy as they supply themselves enough. It’s those who can introspect and at the very least face that they may have played some role. Those who will ALWAYS put a victim first in the narrative because they recognize what actually mattered then…they deserve this “redemption” you speak of. The downfall of Navarro’s reputation wasn’t the worst moment. Be honest here. It was 2 young brothers separately beginning to feel predated on by Jerry, feeling like the worlds new fav could harm them. It was the moment that victim had her bodily autonomy stolen. GET A GRIP.

This is a bizarre video that treats being dropped from a lawsuit as tantamount to total vindication and exonerated of any wrongdoing. That didn’t happen, so why is it being presented as such? And why are other publications being belittled as if their scrutiny of the reputation she made for herself is now their responsibility to rehabilitate???
@tixer86292 ай бұрын
Well, when attorneys meet and agree to remove a defendant from a suit, we can split hairs about whether that exonerates or redeems someone, but it does tell us that there's not enough evidence that she personally did all the things she was accused of doing in the legal filings -- and that's good enough for me. I don't see Monica as an angel, but suspect some of her colleagues at the college did far worse than anything she did.
