In the 80s to get big volume we used Rave hairsprays and a box window fan and to straighten we used a clothing iron with a towel .

This looks so good. I have 2a/2b hair and I want to start my wavy/ curl journey and this cut will help create more waves in my hair I hope. I love this tutorial and I’m going to do this because I currently just have a straight across cut hair and don’t do anything with my hair ever. Ummmm literally thank you because I got MY CURLS BACK because of your recommendations on earlier videos. watched like 3 of your videos , bought the cake curl friend, doux mousse, and curl talk gel, and I used all 3 together. My curls were dealing with some heat damage and I had to do a big chop but I was literally so sad because my curls still wasn’t tryna come thru!!! After I bought those 3 products … girl… omg I’m so in love!! Thank you for your recommendations. Sometimes all it takes is the right product.

I just tried the rizos one today. It left my hair wayyy to soft but the curls are bouncy. They didn't hold so I had to add CS hair spray and still too soft. Maybe it's the oil in it? I want to try the Bounce curl, hopefully it's stronger and not as moisturizing.

huh. my mouse doesn’t come out all liquidy like that. mine comes out super aggressively and more stereotypically mousse and not creamy. though i wonder if that’s because in live at a high elevation and the pressure change messed it up?

ooooh?? wow I never even thought about that. Yeah there might be something off with the pressure because all videos I've seen of the mousse, the product comes out almost like a liquid cream and then it transforms into a cloudy 'marshmallow-like' type of mousse.

I bought the lotion and wanted to try it so bad, but the smell (although very good) is heavy and I tend to get headaches from heavily scented hair products. So, I returned it because everytime I smelled it in the bottle it was a lot for me and I knew if it was in my hair all day it wouldn't be pleasant :/

Yeah Curlsmith products are always heavily scented. I believe they have a whole line that is strictly fragrance free tho, it has a shampoo, conditioner, gel, cream, oil & jelly.

The new volumizing lotion is actually literally the thickening lotion but repackaged and re-marketed into the new line :')

wait really??? I wouldn’t be surprised if they took the same formula and added some razzle dazzle to it to make this one. I swatched them both yesterday and yeah the main difference is that with the Thickening bottle, it pumps out less product so it appears to be less thick than the new Volumizing lotion. And the ingredient list on the new one is also slightly longer. That explains why I couldn’t find the Thickening lotion on their website 😭

I like it for wash day, it's okay, doesn't provide a lot of hold. But for a 2nd or 3rd day refresh???? omg so so good!!
