The tyre war was why Schumacher dominated. He was literally the only driver who was given the spec of tyres that he had. Even hhis teammate didn't have them. This was deliberate from the tyre manufactuerer. They wanted to guarantee one driver winning every time with their brand on his overalls so that it was easy to market him.

the dominance problem is problem in any single sport, especially sports which are less accessible. There is likely that there are hundreds of thousands better potential drivers than max, but they will never have chance to compete even in karting.

His video content writer is Dutch and don't even. Watch gp nowadays bcz Max wins em anyway. Total bs I'd conversation with few Dutch people whom are really proud of what Max is doing. Cause he's the first dutch do it and so dominantly. I just remember Horner's pushover comments on Max during his initial red bull years that how good of a driver he is and how they'll push him to be youngest f1 winner. It didn't happened but he's proving everyone how good he is and dominantly after getting hand on a competitive car

i feel like this channel gives an intrigue to the sport despite its overwhelming reputation for being a rich man's sport that no one cares about. my country singapore host a formula one race every year but most locals generally view it with disdain or complete disinterest.

I think people usually get it wrong. Its not about domination, its about how you dominate. For me, the worst era by far was the Mercedes era because, even though they won "only" 75% of the races during 2014-2020, the way they won was simply absurd. Remember the 2020 Spanish GP when LH lapped everyone except Verstappen and Bottas? With Verstappen I know who's going to win, just like the Mercedes days, but I know its not going to be a walk in the park for Verstappen. In 2023, Alonso would have won at Monaco had his team not fucked up the strategy, Hamilton would have probably won the US GP with one more lap, Alonso could have won at Zandvoort/Canada... in all those races, Verstappen won by 10 seconds or less, and he lost in Singapore because his car was simply not fast enough. On the other hand, Hamilton/Rosberg/Bottas kept getting pole by 0.6-0.7 every single race and lapped almost every single car. It was always HAM-BOT-VER separated by 10 seconds and then the rest of the field one minute behind. And hey, Checo has always been considered a good driver and has barely managed to win a couple races per seasons since he landed at RB. I truly believe the RB is not as good as people think since its not a brilliant car in Checo's hands, but Verstappen is simply too good. He kept winnin 2-3 races per season during the most dominant years of Mercedes with the 3rd fastest car. To sum up: I don't think the RB is that good, Verstappen is. Checo is nowhere to be seen in the same car and he can't win and sometimes doesn't even reach the podium. The Hamilton era was more predictable and much more dominant in terms of raw pace. I thought I hated the Vettel years and his rockets until Mercedes came with the V6T cars

INDYCAR is nowhere near perfect. It's a very flawed spec series, but damn it... it has some of the best racing every weekend. The drivers can make a big difference in the performance of the car. It's an extremely fun series to watch.

He is at least competent, and capable ... or nobody could justify his seat .... Note he has beaten Alonso twice this year so far and 3 times last year ... Perhaps it's the car ...

6:49 , funny how Stroll gets the sticks while immediately after and in an even more important series- Verstappen is excused and simply say how it isn't the norm.. Stroll did extremely well in literally every series he competed in prior to F1. Stroll is not a good driver in F1 as a whole, he does have quite a number of great drives including a pole position, 4 podiums, 4 4th place finishes, most overtakes within a season from 2017-19 consecutively, does poor in qualy but usually makes up for it in the start of races where he picks up a handful of positions by the end of lap 2... BUT, he is very inconsistent and it's this inconsistency that I think he shouldn't be in the sport. Saying all that though, I'm so sick of the constant Stroll shoutouts acting like he's this terrible Mazepin-level driver who hasn't accomplished anything in the sport.. Everyone loves Hulkenberg yet he had many opportunities and still in 15 years has never reached a podium.... Stroll got his first podium in just his 8th F1 race entry at the very difficult and technical Azerbaijan GP in 2017.. He got overtaken just a few meters before the finish line and finished a tenth from 2nd place to Bottas in the most powerful Mercedes engine down the longest straight in the Calendar.. Stroll was in a Williams- the 4/5th quickest car that season.. He has talent, just all this unwarranted excessive- almost obsessive disses towards Stroll are getting old, basically unoriginal at this point. Hell, without Lawrence, this field could very well have been a 16 car grid (although Andretti I'm sure would have zero issues getting in right now lol).

a problem is Mercedes is laughably uncompetitive. Aston Martin could be competitive but they have Stroll. So you only have a few teams that can fight for the title. as of now its really only Red Bull, Ferrari, Mclaren

The insanity was even worse in the 50s and 60s before aluminium or fibreglass body panels/shells they sometimes used to use magnesium body panels! Also those older cars with those skinny hard treaded tyres still reached top speeds on the straights were much the same as the 70s cars, but by the 70s the big sticky tyres, wings and very low centre of gravity meant that in the 70s the lap records kept dropping as they could travel faster around the curves than in the 50s and 60s. The disc brakes used in the 70s are so much better than the drum brakes, and the lower weight of the cars meant that stopping distances were so much shorter, especially in the wet, so they were able to hold those top speeds for longer. Much of the safety of modern F1 is down to the tireless work of Jackie Stewart who the deaths of 57 drivers in the period he was racing, and he was insulted and attacked at the time for that work.

Story behind Ron’s interesting. Teddy Mayer came from doing can am and because of f1’s burgeoning tv coverage decided he wanted to be on tv As team principal and replace Alistair Caldwell. He promoted Caldwell to a non job. The team went from the front of the grid to the back. Phillip morris (Marlboro) issued an ultimatum, we will put out own management in or pull funding. So Ron got his chance.

Another thing: only clueless fans say that "domination is part of the sport" when it in fact began with Ron Dennis' McLaren MP4 projects. Until that point, we had short periods with a certain car/driver combo dominating, but these period easily ended when others came up with a revamped car or team. Note that back then both technology and finances had not achieved the current peak, so it was not THAT hard to innovate and find an advantage. Today you invest dozens of millions of dollars to enhance a single aerodynamic component that will trim 0.2 seconds. The golden era of "Colin Chapman implementing ground effect-based cars out of thin air and winning" is gone.
