Josh’s fault look at the race it’s on KZfaq. Josh tried to barge through and it was completely unnecessary because Josh has said he’s not going to run 800m at the Olympics anyway

@@BitCrafted incorrect. Josh had the inside line. Giles was on the outside of lane 1. And was about to get passed fairly on the inside. And instead of just conceding position, he tripped them both. If you think josh has any fault here, you clearly dont know how track works. You DO NOT cut people off under no circumstances. The fault is 100% with giles. Now hes gotta live with that because he wont be going to paris

Last commenter said it best. In the final stretch if someone is in lane 1 they have to run in a straight line or go around everyone. Kerr ran in a straight line and didn't break any rules. Giles ran in the outer part of lane 1 and then shifted more towards the middle when he felt Kerr coming from the inside, blocking Kerr.

50-50 for me, gap wasn't clear-cut and would have required some level of barging to squeeze through. Giles shouldn't have drifted left either but easy to do when lads pressuring your right.

Mate, your video title "Will I always fail in this sport?" is the thought process, mind-set, of a loser. Stop yourself thinking this. Yes, evaluate what went wrong and correct things if they are obvious. Any decent Coach will tell you that your racing strategies are "shit". Plus, if you are serious about being successful in your chosen distance, STOP all the peripheral garbage, such as being Captain of the GB Athletic team. It means nothing to you as a runner. Football teams and Rugby teams need a Captain. Athletic groups do not! So stop all that garbage and concentrate on your training and improving the faults in your racing. Your racing strategies are terrible. You obviously are talented so learn how to race efficiently and effectively. You are all over the place in your races and rely on trying to finish fast to get a place. But others are just as fast, or faster. So your strategy leaves you poorly positioned during a race and because you are not a world record holder, you cannot outsprint those already in front of you. From all the races I've watched, you NEVER dominate a race and seldom show racing aggression. You are an 800m runner. How many 1500's and 3000m races do you run? You look to be lacking in strength/stamina (plus tactics) and you run like a slow 400m runner who has moved up a distance. Where is the strength and aggression? Nowhere to be seen. Have you been racing Cross-country and Roads for the last 10 years? At age 30 your strength and stamina should be off the charts. Note" I don't mean gym work. RUNNING strength via hard distance C/C and forests and roads training. Yes, you are a nice guy. But you don't get a medal for that. Did you expect other people to prop up your ego and say "Don't give up: you will be successful. Just keep doing what has kept you from winning the last 10 years and you will win."? Isn't that a definition of madness. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Age 34 at the next Olympics is not too late. If you restructure your life and have a correct training program that installs strength and stamina, while still honing speed, then YES you can do it.

I can't remember who said it now but I always remember a sprinter saying you always lose more races than you win, it doesn't make you a loser, it's the nature of elite track racing. I love that you always vow to keep fighting regardless of how disappointed you are in your performance. In any case you can only keep moving forward. Good luck in your next competition.

Maybe recovery was affected by something, or cumulative fatigue hit from so many races. Analyse then draw out lessons and return to the next goal with a neutral mindset, unaffected by the last races. Never lose belief, that's all you need to be ready for your big day in the future.
