Here is some info for those curious about using a portable power station to power a PB710. I recently bought a 710 to use as a car stereo system. My truck (Toyota Tacoma ) has a power inverter and a plug but it’s in the bed. So I decided to use my Jackery 300 to power this speaker. After a few weeks of use, I can get between two to three hours of use out of my Jackery with this speaker system. I’ll have the volume up about half way most of the time. This JBL PartyBox 710 pounds! and I am glad I got it. I was using a 110 prior to getting the 710 , and I am glad I got it. Obviously if you constantly have the volume up with full bass, your power source deplete faster. I have been USB charging the Jackery wile it powered the 710 but it’s a slow charge. I have full bass, no lights on, and of course I have a safety/anti-theft cable to make sure someone doesn’t steal my speaker. This speaker is bulky and heavy so it would take motivation for a thief to steal it quickly but I digress. No over heating or music cutting out and I am happy with the setup I have now. The Jackery is awesome and user friendly, so if you find one on sale, get one! I hope my info helps. ✌️&❤

If you have the money and space then more power to you. 2 PartyBox 110 mounted will entertain 20-30 people easily. If you need more sound than then absolutely. The wheels help too. TB are more for rafting or traveling with ability for loud sound.

your right soundbok 2 blows away the 3.. with the 3 you need the app to make it sound good..I just returned soundbok 3 for the 4 since I do a soundbok party every friday night 9-10:30pm @ the St Pete FL Pier under the psycadelic net...

$649 for a JBL 710 plus $300 for your battery or $549 for a SOUNDBOKS 2. Is the JBL $400 better? The JBL is nice but not actually a portable Bluetooth speaker in the true sense but hey it's your money buy whatever you want.

If you’re only going to be using the speaker outdoors, then the new $549 price point for soundboks is a steal. If you plan on also using it indoors, then in my opinion the JBL 710 is far superior sound quality wise. If deeper richer bass is not an issue then I would mainly consider what I said above.

@steve31785 I'm not against JBL they make lots of nice speakers. All I'm saying is comparing an indoor/backyard type disco speaker to a portable Bluetooth speaker misses the point of why people buy the SOUNDBOKS to begin with. If money is no object you could buy a big JBL PA speaker with a real subwoofer and there would be no comparison with the 710. QSC makes outstanding 3 way 15" PA speakers with 18" Subs that would drown out your neighbors 710 or even the ultimate partybox. Match it with a honda generator and take it wherever you want. Realistically the consumer decides what's better at the end of the day. So have a great day and keep on rocking!

IMO Turtle box sounds tinny, like it has cheap piezo tweeters. Ears will fatigue after a few minutes of loud listening levels. Party box sounds clearer with better balance. Maybe uses silk dome tweets?

I mean the Turtlebox really needs an open area. Otherwise, you’re right, it sounds too harsh. Even a medium size backyard is too enclosed. It’s made for the wilderness.

Heard the speaker weighs a lot more though. You can carry soundboks with one hand across rough terrain. Not sure how battery compares, but soundboks will last for a full day at close to full volume.

I would like to see the comparison in the JBL boombox gen 3 vs Turtlebox gen 3. Both being made for portability, so which is best for on the go sound.

If you’re going to listen mainly indoors and in your backyard then def go with boombox 3. Better sound quality and better bass at mid volumes. If you’re going to use it more at the beach or out in large areas then turtle box for the loud volume. Turtlebox is probably twice as loud.

My husband is a two time war veteran. We are currently living abroad but maintained our Cali and Miami address. We have ordered this speaker 3 times and they keep canceling our order for who knows what reason. They have no customer service number & takes them forever to answer your email. When they do finally answer all they do is shift the blame as to why they keep canceling our order! . All their excuses made no sense. Not ok to shift blame to your customers for the company’s mistakes. Absolutely horrible experience. Not worth it! 😢

Ya the party box has 2 drivers and is three times bigger so I would hope it has good bass. But the turtle box delivers clear audio at high volumes in a small package.

Lotta sibilance from those TBs. Basically a smaller version of seemingly every marine audio system. Nothing below 60hz. The cope is “it has great mid bass” meaning there’s nothing reproducible below 50hz.

These turtleboxes are pure shit for their price tag give me one tribit stormbox blast for 155 over these all day every day... my home set up or for get together is 2 of the 110's i feel those amd the 310 are only speakers from jbl worth their prices.. id take the wking x10 or t11 or soundcore motion boom plus or rave party 2 over these turtleboxes also but my go to for when we head to lake or goin to shoot hoops is the blast.... biught a boombox 3 for 379 this summer it was on sale at walmart and brought it back mext day cuz couldnt justify keepin it with how good the blast is

The turtleboxes are good for loud volumes in wide open areas with a small speaker. Not for inclosed areas. Otherwise you notice that lack of sound quality. But out on open water or open beach with a group, this projects nice and far and clear.

I haven’t heard the blast but from watching some KZfaq videos I believe it was of comparable loudness to the JBL Boombox and I’ve owned JBL Boomboxes. Though the sound quality is better (especially at mid volumes), it’s not remotely close in loudness to the Turtlebox.

After clean loud sound you need good bass or the sound is thin...the turtle box is clean and loud but lacks that deep rich bass...mostly flat upper level bass....not my thing JBL for the win

So the main use I have for the turtlebox is rafting and it has plenty of bass when everyone is close together. I don’t feel like the upper bass is overpowering like it is on the Soundboks 3 or Soundboks Go, which is one of my biggest pet peeves. JBL all around is going to be better suited for most though if they don’t mind moving around a larger speaker.

We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzfaq.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

The Turtlebox in a parade. The Turtlebox will shine if it's raining. The partybox 100, that did well in a parade. It's not water resistant. Partybox 100 sounds good but loses power. Need a generator. Outdoors, the weather is unpredictable. The Turtlebox, lighter, loud and water proof. Checking out the Soundboks which is water resistant and very loud. Is there a speaker you can play in rain. Maybe the Turtlebox. JBL sounds great though.

The PartyBox 110 will do fine in the rain. I had mine in heavy rain for an hour and it was great. If you’re looking for something very loud and portable the turtlebox is good, but bad sounding for indoor listening. Soundboks go is pretty good for the size as well, but doesn’t sound great indoors either.

Hey thank you very much for this informative video but i still cant decide… I just listen to Uptempo and Hardcore (very fast electronic music with a lot of bass) and so the sb2 seems to be perfect for me, but the problem is, that it isnt available anymore. The sb3 would just be an option, if the new app would make it possible to programm the sb3 with the same ammount of bass like the sb2. But i think it doesent.. can someone please help me or give me his opinion? Thanks a lot

To be fair one is a portable speaker and one is not. I really like the bass peak on the soundboks 2. It’s around 70 hz ish. The peak on the 710 is pretty low (sub bass region) so you don’t get that good mid bass kick. Overall though if you have the extra dough to get a good battery bank, the 710 is pretty amazing.

Just from this video, the Turtle Box seems way more clear and crisp. The Party Box vocals just seem muffled. I've never heard either in real life, though. Turtle Box seems good for the boat, though!

If u want more studio bass homesystem. I’d go jbl. If you want rugged speaker with loud good tweeters then yeah go turtles. I have turtle box and am very mad because one broke after one day using it by the river.

@Stephen I heard tons. . I have all 3 soundboks and just got the turtle. Brother has jbls .after last summer he bought 2 new smaller soundboks. We put them to the test last year. The soundboks were definitely better than the jbls. That's why he bought 2 soundboks. I'm not saying the jbls are junk . They are good, just not better than the soundboks. And I just wanted the turtle cuz i thought it was cool.

Just hard to compare them, the party box has two drivers and the box is twice the size so of course it’s going to have more bass. But for the size and weight nothing compares to the turtle box.

It’s good for projecting sound over a large field like if you used it for baseball or kickball game. Or if you want something you can travel with that’s loud for the beach. But yes, if there is less ambient noise, and volume is less important you’re going to notice the sound quality difference.

I have the boombox 2 and it has great lower bass like the 110s. But it misses the mid bass kick that the 110s have.

@@CMarkR turtlebox can get much louder and has better mid bass, but doesn’t sound good indoors. The boombox sounds good outdoors and indoors as it has a cleaner sound. Boombox is about 40% heavier.
