You know when I tune out, on these types of “easy teaching” videos? It’s during the “intro”, where the teacher starts to talk, explaining WHAT they will show you, how they will show you, a HUGE, LENGTHY explanation using ALL the possible technical terms available to master musicians. I can hear notes and chords in my head. I can hear the next chord coming, but this constant technical talking about “simple theory” just drowns my creative thoughts, and I’m back in grade 9 advanced math. Does NOBODY, know how to just teach music? So many people can just learn it without teaching. Many can hear it intuitively. But it seems that once you go through the technical teaching, that person cannot just get on with it. There has GOT to be an easier to understand method. It almost feels elitist to learn all the old terms. How can a dirt poor farm hand from the 19th century, take a box and strings and become a world renown guitarist and brilliant recording artist, simply by listening and doing? No technical jargon. There is a better way somewhere. Every video today begins with “what I’ll show you in this video….” Ughhhh….I’m out.

Would be very helpful if you named the notes played under the 1 e + a 2 e +a .... As it's hard to see which notes are played just looking at the video, thanks

So, my son is has never played piano before, but wants to learn for the purposes of creating a digital soundtrack for a computer game he's creating. What would be the best keyboard/midi option for both learning & being productive towards this goal?

Awesome content! What helped me on top: imagine a c major chord. Now play an add9 - and add the 6th for the c pentatonic Vice versa for minor :)

you say the progression is in d minor. is one b. but if we we put the second cord in b flat major then this would give us a key signiature with 2 b.??

Im so old right now and always ran away from studying piano but loved making beats After coming to this guys videos I feel like a child but this time with enthusiasm for something I don’t grasp quickly Usually I give up and tend to be like well “that’s not for me” But with this piano stuff it feels more fun to get frustrated I will keep being on this page

Music is a beautifully complicated thing. I see it as part of the fractal nature of the universe, a pattern within a pattern, within a pattern, and so on.

You're not playing octaves. You're just holding down the low C while you play the higher C. You should alternate low-high.
