I should not watch these delicious recipes late at night. It's worse than pizza commercials on TV. A friend gave me a very simple five ingredient recipe for lentil pottage - lentils, rice, onion, olive oil and water. It lacks the complex flavors, textures and freshness of this recipe but it's a very hearty winter side dish that's good with a small entree with a lot of delicious lentil pottage.

Two questions: 1) can we just use double regular soy sauce if we don’t have dark 2) can we use corn starch if we don’t have potato starch?

I'm not a fan of gazpacho, but I'll bet this would taste good cool. I have Hungarian paprika, so I'll see what else I have to add to it.
Doesn’t brown rice have to cook longer than 15 minutes. Even though you are letting it sit off the heat I’m concerned it won’t be cooked through. That’s how long I cook white rice.

Canned cheakpeas really? That's horrible. Of course it is an "easy recipe", Cheakpeas need 24 hours in water before they get cooked.

I love how the turnip cake flipping during searing goes from gentle and cautious with the first slice to risky and frisky by the fourth slice 😆

Awesome! I have all the ingredients. If I plan on this to eat over several days at work, I need to keep which ingredients separate until consuming?

Yeah mine didn’t turn out anywhere near that thick. I used a stick blender. I’ll try using my vita mix and use less oil. Anyone know why to cook it first?
