Really excited for this. Wish they’d stop being posh and just make a fully faired sports/super sports bike in a full time release. Not a limited collectors bike that 3 people will ride. I know it’s controversial because people hated the 800cc era, but I loved it. I think it would be really cool for manufacturers to do the middleweights how they’re doing it now with the twins and triples, but for their super bikes I wish we’d see roadgoing v4 800’s tuned like super bikes are. Around 150-180 horsepower would be awesome

He wasn't complaining about the move. He was complaining because once he got pushed off line his tire pressure dropped and he couldn't ride fast because the left side of the tire was too cold. There was nothing he could do but take the penalty. They've already adjusted the rules once. They may do it again. But I feel like teams shouldn't be cutting it so close and it's kind of on them.

The only thing that I think that makes sense is Vinales had a paycut do to Martin coming abroad. Because why would he leave an arguably better bike that he's familiar with and being a Factory rider. He's finally competitive again and now leaving. Hopefully Bez can get back to form.

We're looking at a potential (not yet ratified) ICE ban for Motorcycles in the EU by 2035. Additionally, you have ever tightening emissions regulations for ICE. If the EU demands it, all major brands will follow. So it would make complete sense for the major manufacturers to be exploring a transition strategy to move away from ICE's. At the moment electric road bikes just don't have any major range. I think the Zero touring bike has got around 120-140 miles tops, which ain't great. So a hybrid ain't a bad approach until battery and fast charging technology improves sufficiently where the average consumer would be happy to accept an electric bike. For the record: we own 2x electric motocross bikes (Surron Ultra Bee and Talaria X3). But those are niche, and mostly for offroad use. Very limited range. 40 miles on a good day. Electrics are however evolving very quickly, and it won't be long before they are competitive with mainstream ICE motorcycles.
@ExpatonTwoWheels20 күн бұрын
Electrics are evolving rapidly and they make a lot of sense for tight technical trails, but without a big step forward in battery tech, they're not going to be useful for a lot of remote touring and off grid stuff. Donut recently took the Cybertruck off-road for overlanding and they had quite a bit of range anxiety and had to turn around. I don't see it being viable to replace long haul trucking, which is a huge industry we rely on for food and goods without big changes to the way we do things. Maybe trains will need to be focused on.

I don't buy that story from Crash because if Ducati left it till the end of the season to finalise their factory rider, there would be no time to sort out the sponsorship deals. I would rather believe what Simon Crafar's speculation that Ducati asked JM89 to wait another 3 weeks for their decision, and JM89 got impatient, so he went to talk to Aprilia.
