That is a beautiful sound! But why the long throw linkage or transmission?

I have a question. Was the engine like that from the yellow interceptor in the movie Mad Max?

It's a 351C XB Falcon like Max's yellow interceptor. So yeah, you could say that.👍

Do you have a rev limiter on that thing? Recently bought a notchback with a carb'd 302, which is my first car with a carb. Anyway, no rev limiter, so it's a bit nerve racking.

Yeah, this has an adjustable spark cut. It was set at 7600 in this clip.They're a wise investment in your future happiness, especially with a roller cam.👍

I own a ‘91 Corvette ZR-1 with the LT5 and a 2014 F-150 with the Coyote 5.0. Both engines sound magnificent above 5,000 rpm, but this 351C is freakin’ pure American symphony. Awesome!

I work at the Cleveland engine plant now and it’s always amazing to see the old engines that were built in the same city/ close 500ft to me🤣
@Mr357Cleveland26 күн бұрын
Yeah, pretty cool. This one was cast in Australia, a lot of the earlier versions were U.S imports, along with all of the 4V port heads. This one, like many cast here until the late '70's, has the CF for Cleveland foundry cast in the block still. They eventually had GF Geelong foundry put in the same spot. Cheers.

Damn great sounding motor. I had a 351W mustang, and it got nowhere near these rpm's.
@GroovesAndLands28 күн бұрын
351C was probably the best small block of the era. Stout block and by far the best heads. And before anyone replies "it's not really a smallblock"... Yes it is/was. The only "big block" feature of the Cleveland was the bellhousing bolt pattern.
@Mr357Cleveland28 күн бұрын
Even the Bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as the Windsor, only the 351M/400 is bigblock pattern. And you're right, definitely not a big block, the same bore centers as a Windsor as well.👍
